Job summary

Strata Geosystems in Mumbai is seeking an experienced Senior Fixed Asset Accountant to own end-to-end fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, disposals, transfers, and impairment reviews in a manufacturing setup.

You will ensure monthly/annual depreciation under Companies Act 2013 and Ind AS, maintain the Fixed Asset Register, lead closes, coordinate with auditors, and drive process improvements in SAP B1.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with fixed asset accounting and SAP B1 or similar ERP
• Knowledge of depreciation under Companies Act 2013 and Ind AS
• Experience with statutory, internal, and audit compliance in manufacturing
• Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot, lookups, reconciliations)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end fixed asset accounting including capitalization, disposals, transfers and impairment reviews
• Ensure depreciation filings monthly/annually per Companies Act 2013 and Ind AS
• Maintain and reconcile Fixed Asset Register with GL across locations
• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual fixed asset closes and related schedules
• Prepare reconciliations and schedules for audits and management reviews
• Coordinate with statutory and internal auditors to address queries
• Ensure internal controls and policy compliance across manufacturing sites
• Collaborate with plant teams (Daheli, Daman, Jaipur) for accurate accounting
• Monitor capex accounting and asset capitalization timelines
• Support SAP B1 automation and process improvements

Job description

Role Overview:

• Own and manage the end-to-end fixed asset accounting function, including capitalization, asset additions, disposals, transfers, impairment reviews, and periodic physical verification.
• Ensure accurate computation and accounting of depreciation in accordance with the Companies Act, 2013 and applicable Ind AS requirements on a monthly / annual basis.
• Maintain and reconcile the Fixed Asset Register (FAR) with the general ledger and ensure completeness and accuracy of asset records across all locations.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities relating to fixed assets and related balance sheet schedules.
• Prepare detailed reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentation for statutory reporting, audits, and management reviews.
• Work closely with statutory and internal auditors of leading audit firms to address audit queries and ensure timely closure of observations.
• Ensure compliance with internal control frameworks, financial policies, and audit requirements across manufacturing and branch locations.
• Coordinate closely with plant and factory teams, including Daheli, Daman and Jaipur, to ensure accurate accounting, documentation, and timely closure of accounting matters.
• Monitor capital expenditure accounting, asset capitalization timelines, and related compliance requirements.
• Support automation and process improvement initiatives within SAP B1 and related accounting processes.

Required Candidate Profile: Looking a candidate from Manufacturing

• Strong hands-on experience with SAP B1 or a similar ERP system, particularly fixed asset and general accounting modules.
• Thorough understanding of fixed asset accounting, financial reporting, and depreciation provisions under the Companies Act and Ind AS.
• Experience in handling statutory, internal, and audit compliance requirements in a manufacturing environment.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder-management, and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of deliverables, and manage multiple priorities.
