You'll work on audits, advisory engagements, and ICFR-related assessments while leveraging ERP platforms such as SAP, SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, and MS Dynamics, coupled with strong MS Excel proficiency.

Qualificações

• Qualified CA with experience in technical accounting and financial reporting for banks, NBFCs, fintech, or financial services.
• Big 4/Big 6 background or equivalent financial services exposure preferred.
• Experience auditing or advisory in Ind AS/IFRS/US GAAP contexts.
• Knowledge of ICFR, SOX and COSO framework advantageous.
• ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills required.

Job Description-Technical Accounting & Assurance - Financial Services

About the Role

We are looking for qualified Chartered Accountants with strong expertise in technical accounting, financial reporting, and assurance, particularly within the banking, NBFC, fintech, and financial services sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Accounting & Advisory

• Apply and interpret Ind AS, IFRS, and, where applicable, US GAAP for complex accounting and financial reporting matters.
• Research technical accounting issues and develop appropriate accounting positions in accordance with applicable standards.
• Support and execute Ind AS/IFRS implementation, accounting conversion, and financial reporting engagements.
• Analyse differences between Ind AS and IFRS and assess their impact on accounting treatment, financial statements, and disclosures.
• Monitor new accounting standards, amendments, regulatory developments, and technical pronouncements.
• Prepare technical accounting memoranda, accounting position papers, white papers, and diagnostic reports.
• Work on accounting and reporting requirements relating to financial instruments under Ind AS 109 / IFRS 9.
• Support or execute ECL advisory, assessment, review, and testing engagements.
• Evaluate the reasonableness of ECL methodologies, assumptions, data inputs, and impairment calculations, depending on the engagement scope.
• Review classification, measurement, impairment, and disclosure requirements for financial assets and financial liabilities.
• Work on hedge accounting assessments, including hedge documentation, effectiveness evaluation, accounting treatment, and related disclosures, as applicable.
• Analyse accounting implications of loans, investments, derivatives, and other financial instruments.

Financial Statement Audits & Reporting

• Execute and review financial statement audits under Ind AS, IFRS, and/or US GAAP.
• Prepare, review, or assist in preparing financial statements, including consolidated financial statements.
• Evaluate compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory requirements, and financial reporting regulations.
• Review accounting estimates, provisions, reconciliations, disclosures, and complex transactions.
• Identify accounting discrepancies, assess their impact, and recommend appropriate adjustments.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statement disclosures and supporting documentation.
• Work with clients across banks, NBFCs, fintech companies, and other financial services organisations.
• Understand sector‑specific accounting and reporting matters relating to lending, investments, financial instruments, impairment, and treasury operations.
• Assess accounting and reporting implications of business transactions and regulatory developments.
• Apply industry practices and technical accounting guidance to address client‑specific reporting challenges.

Internal Controls & Governance

• Evaluate Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) and their impact on the reliability of financial statements.
• Support assessments and testing of financial reporting controls, including control design and operating effectiveness.
• Apply relevant SOX requirements and COSO framework principles, where applicable.
• Identify control deficiencies and recommend improvements to strengthen financial reporting processes.
• Understand the role of ERP systems in accounting, transaction processing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Data Analysis & Client Deliverables

• Analyse large volumes of financial and accounting data using MS Excel and other relevant tools.
• Use ERP systems such as SAP, SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, or MS Dynamics to support accounting and assurance engagements.
• Prepare detailed reports, technical documentation, diagnostic assessments, and client presentations.
• Communicate complex accounting matters and findings clearly to stakeholders.
• Maintain high standards of documentation, analytical accuracy, and engagement quality.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
• Preferred Background: Professionals from Big 4 / Big 6 firms with relevant financial services audit, technical accounting, or advisory experience.
• Technical Accounting: Strong knowledge of Ind AS and an understanding of differences between Ind AS and IFRS.
• Specialised Expertise: Practical exposure to Ind AS 109 / IFRS 9, Expected Credit Loss (ECL) advisory or testing, hedge accounting, financial instruments, or Ind AS/IFRS implementation projects.
• Financial Statement Auditing: Extensive experience auditing financial statements under Ind AS, IFRS, and/or US GAAP.
• Technical Research & Documentation: Ability to independently research complex accounting issues, interpret technical accounting literature, and prepare accounting white papers, technical memoranda, diagnostic reports, and accounting assessments.
• Financial Reporting: Experience preparing or reviewing financial statements, including consolidated financial statements.
• Internal Controls: Understanding of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR), SOX, and the COSO framework.
• ERP & Data Analysis: Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP, SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, or MS Dynamics, along with strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Core Competencies: Excellent analytical, documentation, communication, and report‑writing skills.
