Job summary

XPO Logistics, Inc. is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager in Pune, India. This hands-on leader will oversee accounting, reporting, and compliance, driving the end-to-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end analysis.

You will train senior staff, coordinate with auditors, and champion process improvements across Finance and Operations. The role requires CPA licensure, 10 years of combined public accounting and industry experience, and 2–3+ years of people management.

Qualifications

• CPA license and up to 10 years in public accounting or industry experience.
• 2–3+ years of direct people management experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel with pivots and VLOOKUP.
• Experience in statutory audits, SOX, and external audit coordination.
• Big4 experience and/or exposure to a large publicly traded company preferred.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on manager responsible for accounting, reporting and compliance, including end-to-end financial close, journal entries, reconciliations, and trend analysis.
• Supervise, train and develop senior and staff accountants in key concepts and best practices.
• Prepare/review requests from auditors and technical accounting memos; lead process documentation and enhancements.
• Partner with Finance, Operations and other departments to perform monthly controls and analyses and build effective processes.
• Ensure SOX compliance and provide support for ad-hoc finance needs.

What you’ll need to succeed as an Accounting Manager at XPO

• CPA license
• 10 years of combination public accounting/industry experience
• 2-3+ years of direct people management and mentorship experience
• Proficinecy with Microsoft Office tools, including advanced Excel skills with the ability to create pivot tables, use VLOOKUP as well as other analytical functions

Highly Preferred qualifications:

• Initially experience working in Big4, followed by experience working for a large, national publicly traded company. Experience in freight, transporation, or logistics industries a plus.
• Must have experience in local Statuory annual audit, account recolinaction, external audit SOX compliance
• Experience in ERP Systems and related systems such as Oracle, SAP , Excel, HFM, Blackline, Coupa, MRI Horizon (Prolease Enterprise) and Oracle Close Manager
• Strong analytical and organization skills
• Comfortable prioritizing multiple work streams across daily responsibilities and long-term projects
• Must be team oriented; enjoys working with colleagues at all levels of the organization

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Hands‑on manager responsible for many aspects of accounting, reporting, and compliance, including but not limited to: facilitation of the end‑to‑end process of the financial close, preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and trend/flux analysis during month end close.
• Supervise, train and develop senior and staff accountants on various accounting concepts and best practices
• Prepare/review requests from external and internal auditors, prepare/review technical accounting memos, among others
• Lead process documentation and enhancement efforts
• Actively partner with Finance, Operations and other department collegues to perform required monthly controls and analysis, and build effective processes.
• Ensure SOX compliance
• Provide support to accounting/finance management and internal customers as needs arise, including ad‑hoc projects
