Job summary

XPO is seeking an Accounting Manager in Maharashtra, India to lead the accounting team, manage the month-end close, prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and trend analyses, and ensure accurate reporting.

The ideal candidate holds a CPA license with ~10 years of experience in public accounting and industry, 2–3+ years of people management, strong Excel (pivot, VLOOKUP) and ERP experience (Oracle, SAP, HFM, Blackline), and a focus on SOX compliance.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on manager responsible for accounting, reporting, and compliance, including end-to-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and trend analyses.
• Supervise, train and develop senior and staff accountants.
• Prepare and review requests from auditors; prepare technical accounting memos.
• Lead process documentation and enhancement efforts.
• Partner with Finance, Operations and other departments to perform monthly controls and analyses; build effective processes.
• Ensure SOX compliance.
• Provide support to management and internal customers, including ad-hoc projects.

What you’ll need to succeed as an Accounting Manager at XPO

• CPA license
• 10 years of combination public accounting/industry experience
• 2-3+ years of direct people management and mentorship experience
• Proficinecy with Microsoft Office tools, including advanced Excel skills with the ability to create pivot tables, use VLOOKUP as well as other analytical functions
  

Highly Preferred qualifications:

• Initially experience working in Big4, followed by experience working for a large, national publicly traded company. Experience in freight, transporation, or logistics industries a plus.
• Must have experience in local Statuory annual audit, account recolinaction, external audit SOX compliance
• Experience in ERP Systems and related systems such as Oracle, SAP , Excel, HFM, Blackline, Coupa, MRI Horizon (Prolease Enterprise) and Oracle Close Manager
  
• Strong analytical and organization skills
• Comfortable prioritizing multiple work streams across daily responsibilities and long-term projects
• Must be team oriented; enjoys working with colleagues at all levels of the organization
  

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Hands-on manager responsible for many aspects of accounting, reporting, and compliance, including but not limited to: facilitation of the end-to-end process of the financial close, preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and trend/flux analysis during month end close.
  
• Supervise, train and develop senior and staff accountants on various accounting concepts and best practices
• Prepare/review requests from external and internal auditors, prepare/review technical accounting memos, among others
  
• Lead process documentation and enhancement efforts
• Actively partner with Finance, Operations and other department collegues to perform required monthly controls and analysis, and build effective processes.
• Ensure SOX compliance
• Provide support to accounting/finance management and internal customers as needs arise, including ad-hoc projects
