Job summary

XPO India Shared Services is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the accounting, reporting and compliance functions. You will manage the end-to-end close, journal entries, reconciliations and variance analysis, while guiding senior staff and coordinating with auditors.

Ideal candidates hold a Chartered Accountant designation with a Bachelor's degree, 7+ years of experience, and strong MS Office/Excel skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and CA with 7+ years in accounting.
  • 2-3+ years of direct people management and mentorship.
  • Proficient with MS Office, advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
  • Experience in Big4 and large, national publicly traded company preferred.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS differences.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on manager overseeing accounting, reporting and compliance.
  • Facilitate end-to-end close, journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Lead staff in reviews and training on accounting concepts.

What youll need to succeed as an Accounting Manager at XPO
Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Mandatory CA
  • 7 years of combination public accounting/industry experience
  • 2-3+ years of direct people management and mentorship experience
  • Proficinecy with Microsoft Office tools, including advanced Excel skills with the ability to create pivot tables, use VLOOKUP as well as other analytical functions
Highly Preferred qualifications:
  • Initially experience working in Big4, followed by experience working for a large, national publicly traded company. Experience in freight, transporation, or logistics industries a plus.
  • Must have experience in local Statuory annual audit, account recolinaction, external audit SOX compliance
  • Experience in ERP Systems and related systems such as Oracle, SAP , Excel, HFM, Blackline, Coupa, MRI Horizon (Prolease Enterprise) and Oracle Close Manager
  • Strong analytical and organization skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Comfortable prioritizing multiple work streams across daily responsibilities and long-term projects
  • Must be team oriented; enjoys working with colleagues at all levels of the organization
What you’ll do on a typical day:
  • Hands-on manager responsible for many aspects of accounting, reporting, and compliance, including but not limited to: facilitation of the end-to-end process of the financial close, preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and trend/flux analysis during month end close.
  • Supervise, train and develop senior and staff accountants on various accounting concepts and best practices
  • Prepare/review requests from external and internal auditors, prepare/review technical accounting memos, among others
  • Lead process documentation and enhancement efforts
  • Actively partner with Finance, Operations and other department collegues to perform required monthly controls and analysis, and build effective processes.
  • Provide support to accounting/finance management and internal customers as needs arise, including ad-hoc projects
  • Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual book closure activities, ensuring timely completion of close processes and accurate financial reporting.
  • Oversee general ledger accounting, including balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany accounting, accruals, prepayments, and analysis of variances.
  • Lead and manage general accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
  • Strong understanding of general accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/quarter-end close processes.
  • Hands-on experience with US GAAP accounting
  • Understating the differences between US GAAP and IFRS.
