Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced finance professional to lead revenue and expense accounting for Travel and Lifestyle Services, ensuring GAAP compliance and strong controls. You will drive process improvements and provide analytics to support key business decisions.

The role requires strong accounting expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to lead change initiatives across global teams within SAP-like environments. Location is India-based with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant or MBA with around 6 years post-qualification experience, or B.Com with minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong accounting and control skills.
  • Strong awareness of AXP policies and GAAP guidance.
  • Deep knowledge of AXP ledgering and reporting system and familiarity with AXP underlying business processes.
  • Knowledge of AXP Oracle GL, reporting, and business applications.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office; Oracle Cloud experience preferred.
  • Ability to influence senior finance and business partners.
  • Experience in assessing operational risks and designing controls to mitigate risks.
  • Proven ability to lead global change initiatives.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize multiple tasks under defined timelines.
  • Attention to detail and maintaining a strong control environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership to develop and train a diverse team.
  • Understanding of AMEX finance policies and IFRS/GAAP guidance.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, and judgment skills.
  • Strong colleague management skills.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Internal applicants should have tenured 18 months or more in current role and not be under behavioural counselling.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, maintain, and improve Revenue and Expense Accounting processes for Travel and Lifestyle Services and other AXP processes.
  • Manage analytics and balance sheet account research and clearance.
  • Maintain integrity, controls, functionality, and efficiency of financial accounting processes.
  • Ensure GAAP compliance, policies, PRSA structure, contractual requirements, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive innovation, automation, and process redesign to reduce risk and improve efficiency.
  • Provide leadership to the immediate team and broader groups.
  • Design accounting processes for product and service launches or changes.
  • Leverage general ledger and data to generate business insights.
  • Lead initiatives with stakeholders and business partners.
  • Improve service levels for complex financial processes with material values.
  • Analyze information to identify exposures and address them.
  • Support audits, metrics, RCSA, internal reviews, process attestations, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Maintain contact with customers, business partners, technology teams, and other teams.
  • Lead accounting and reporting services in a controlled manner and support continuous improvement.

Job description
