Job summary

ZEISS India in Bengaluru is seeking a skilled HVAC mechanic to install, maintain and repair ventilation and air conditioning systems in a process-driven manufacturing setting. The role involves reading blueprints, diagnosing faults and performing warranty/after-hours service across sites.

Ideal candidates hold ITI HVAC systems or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 4–5 years of experience, and will collaborate with contractors and internal teams while ensuring health and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• ITI HVAC systems or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 4–5 years of experience in process driven manufacturing industry.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams and schematics.
• Willingness to work after hours, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair HVAC systems and equipment including air handling units and related components.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams and schematics.
• Perform leak testing, vacuumizing, gas charging and commissioning of HVAC units.
• Maintain daily logs and records; ensure health and safety compliance.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time; coordinate with multiple contractors on site.

Main Accountabilities Areas of Expertise

• Installing, maintaining and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment like Air Handling Units, humidifiers, De Humidifiers, Cooling towers, Brine chillers etc
• Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
• Leak testing, Vacuumizing, Brazing, Gas charging and commissioning of the AC unit.
• Cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems, and performing warranty services.
• Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in line with HVAC protocols.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams and schematics.
• Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
• Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with other team members to complete projects on time.
• Having experience of working with multiple contractors at site.
• Collaborate with other team members for any trouble shooting during shifts.
