Job summary

ZEISS India is headquartered in Bengaluru and leads operations across industrial quality solutions and medical technology. We seek an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to install, commission and maintain major production equipment and utilities, troubleshoot complex electrical systems, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires hands-on experience in O&M with 6–8 years in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• ITI Electricals or Diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 6–8 years of hands-on experience in operation and maintenance of major equipment/utilities in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with electrical switchgear, breakers, transformers, HVAC, and related plant utilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission new production equipment and perform maintenance.
• Troubleshoot electrical equipment across production and utilities.
• Fine-tune machines after commissioning to achieve desired outputs.
• Inspect and service air circuit breakers, vacuum breakers, and switchgear.
• Operate and maintain DG sets, transformers, HVAC compressors, chillers, AHUs and UPS systems.
• Read electrical diagrams, ladder diagrams, PLCs and related schematics; maintain documentation.
• Manage spare parts and coordinate with AMC contractors ensuring site safety.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.

Main Accountabilities & Areas of Expertise

• Installation & Commissioning of new production equipements, Maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose electrical equipment relevant to major Production & Utilities.
• Fine tuning the machine after commissioning to achieve desired outputs.
• Troubleshoot all types of single phase, 3 phase, LT side and HT side electrical breakdowns.
• Inspect the circuit , trouble shoot and Carry out maintenance of Air circuit Breakers and Vacuum circuit breakers.
• Conduct Operation and maintenance of Utilities like DG sets, DG Synchronizing panel, HT / LT transformer, HVAC compressors, Chillers , Air handling Units, Humidifiers, Air compressors, UPS System etc independently.
• Read & Trouble shoot Star Delta starter single line wiring diagram, lighting circuit, Online and Offline UPS system, Maintenance of Batteries etc Maintaining repository of all software’s with licenses, troubleshooting PLC, check ladder diagram, Schematics, Process flow diagrams, Electrical & Pneumatic circuit diagrams etc.
• Spare parts management.
• Inhouse maintenance and overhauling of Breakers, electrical components, Motor rewinding, electrical & Pneumatic components servicing etc.
• Taking care of Effluent and Water treatment plant operation & MaintenanceCoordinate with AMC Contractors, and other contractors, issuing various work permits and taking care of their safety during their work at site ( INMA).
• Trouble shoot Fire detection system, Fire hydrant system ( Fire pumps) and Public address system.Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams and schematics
• Maintaining the history records, PM check lists, timely revision of check lists.
• Creating trouble shooting manuals for each equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with other team members to complete day to day task allotted to them on time . Follow and adhere to the Environment, Health and Safety standards/Policies
