Carl Zeiss India (Bangalore) Pvt. Ltd. seeks an experienced Maintenance Engineer (Electrical) to lead preventive and breakdown maintenance of production and utility equipment, read schematics, diagnose faults, and drive MTTR/MTBF improvements.
Required BE or Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 8–10 years in maintenance; strong Excel, Word and presentation skills; knowledge of ISO 14000 / 18001 and QA/QMS; apply with readiness to work in a demanding, quality-driven environment.

Areas of Expertise: Through knowledge of Utilities Operation and Maintenance, Preventive & Breakdown maintenance of the Production and Utility Equipment’s, DG Synchronizing Panels, Transformers, Electrical installations, HVAC systems, STP, ETP and WTP etc.
Diagnosing faults, leading repair efforts to minimize downtime, and conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
Provide technical expertise, manage contractor support, ensure safety compliance, and update maintenance documentation to restore operational efficiency rapidly.
Understand how to keep mechanical and electrical systems running efficiently. Be able to understand the circuit diagrams, trace the problem, service, troubleshoot, and repair machines. Know how to optimize maintenance procedures to improve machine performance.
Be proficient in using maintenance software and other computer systems.
Knowledge of preparing blueprints and technical diagrams and schematics. Ensure that installations and applications are in line with customer needs and safety standards.
Develop maintenance policies and procedures and respond to maintenance requests. Monitor maintenance and inspection plans.
Able to read the drawings & engineering specifications and tolerances.
Prepare and give presentations using MS presentations and have a good knowledge of Excel and MS Word.
Thorough knowledge of MTTR, MTBF, PM adherence targets as KPI’s and able to meet the KPI’s defined for the department.
Able to read, write electrical circuit diagrams, SLD’s, work on PLC programming, creating ladder diagrams in PLC’s, troubleshooting the PLC program etc.
Must have knowledge on building management systems, business continuity plan, emergency preparedness, and so on.
Knowledge on 5S, Gemba, continual improvement projects, LEAN concepts, root cause analysis using quality tools.
Knowledge of MIS reporting for critical parameters like energy, water, and waste to meet department objectives for the KPI’s.
