Job summary

Roquette Group in Pantnagar, India, seeks a Utility Maintenance Supervisor to lead the safe, reliable operation of plant utility systems within Engineering & Utilities. You will manage manpower, schedules, permits, and energy performance while ensuring compliance with permits and safety norms.

The role requires 5–6+ years in utility operations and maintenance in manufacturing, with a Diploma or B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Qualifications

• Experience in utility operations and maintenance in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and related systems.
• Familiarity with Permit-to-Work, safety standards, and environmental rules.

Responsibilities

• Daily manpower checking and reporting (company/contract).
• Arrange manpower for planned maintenance and breakdowns.
• Ensure safety PPE adherence and safe operations.
• Implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
• Handle equipment trips, breakdowns, and abnormal conditions.
• Monitor energy consumption and drive reductions in losses.
• Prepare daily department reports and maintain logs.
• Oversee spare parts planning and budget guidance with Manager.
• Coordinate shift handovers and area cleanliness after jobs.

Job description

To meet our challenges, we are looking for a Utility Maintenance Supervisor within the Engineering & Utilities team! This position will be located in Pantnagar.

Their mission?

This position is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of plant utility systems while maintaining compliance with safety, environmental, and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Daily checking and reporting of manpower (company / contract).
• Arrangement of manpower for timely completion of the planned maintenance activities / breakdowns.
• Ensure all dept. personnel follow safety precautions & PPE.
• Implementing preventive and predictive maintenance schedule. Keep records of the same.
• To Handle emergencies like equipment trips, breakdowns or abnormal conditions.
• To Ensure compliance with environmental norms.
• Monitor parameters and take corrective actions when deviations occur.
• To allocate duties and ensure smooth handover between shifts.
• To maintain shift logbooks & Check lists
• To maintain records related to audits & inspections.
• To Monitor utility equipment’s energy consumption (steam, water & power, air) & reduce energy losses.
• To support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Raise the indents for spare/Consumables/chemicals procurement on priority wise within budget under guidance of Manager.
• Carrying out major overhauling of machines under guidance of Section head.
• Verification of the expenditure bills / job done as per standard rates of the company.
• To keep the plant clean and safe.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety rules, SOPs and statutory regulations.
• To attend safety jobs on 1st priority.
• To ensure that all the jobs are started after assurance of proper work permit.
• To ensure that area is found properly cleaned before starting the job & again cleaned by his team after completion of job i.e. just before returning the permit.
• Daily plant round to check smooth operation and equipment health.
• Give feedback to Manager regarding any abnormality in plant and enforce to set right from O&M Operator/fitters.
• Give feedback on condition of machines for planning maintenance.
• Enforce shift operators/fitters for improving housekeeping.
• Carrying out major overhauling of machines under guidance of Section head.
• Allotment of jobs to foreman / fitters/ Operators.
• To maintain the inventory of hazardous waste and dispose as per govt. rules.
• Supervising the performance of fitter & technician and initiate corrective action if required.
• Preparing the indents for spares as per requirements.
• Prepare daily department report, operation maintenance and analyzing maintenance information and execute the same.
• Authorizing of material from store.
• Accountable to maintain the safety & environment requirements as per standard.
• Accountable to minimize the breakdown of the plant.
• Accountable for documentation data to be maintained in daily basis with proper procedure.
• Accountable for ERP application.

B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent discipline with 5 to 6+ years of experience in Utility Operations & Maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
