Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day mechanical maintenance activities of plant machinery and equipment.
• Execute preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment failures and ensure timely restoration of equipment.
• Handle maintenance of utility equipment and systems.
• Monitor and maintain equipment such as pumps, compressors, boilers, HVAC systems, chillers, DG sets and other utility equipment.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules as per maintenance plans.
• Coordinate with production/operations teams for planned and breakdown maintenance.

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to handle plant mechanical maintenance and utility maintenance activities at our Varanasi facility. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring maximum availability and reliability of plant machinery, equipment and utility systems.

The ideal candidate should have hands‑on experience in preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting and utility equipment maintenance and should be comfortable working in rotational shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day mechanical maintenance activities of plant machinery and equipment.
• Execute preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment failures and ensure timely restoration of equipment.
• Handle maintenance of utility equipment and systems.
• Monitor and maintain equipment such as pumps, compressors, air compressors, boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, DG sets and other utility equipment as applicable.
• Ensure maximum equipment availability and minimize breakdown/downtime.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules as per maintenance plans.
• Identify recurring equipment problems and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with production/operations teams for planned and breakdown maintenance.
• Maintain maintenance records, checklists, breakdown reports and preventive maintenance records.
• Ensure proper use of maintenance tools, spares and consumables.
• Follow plant safety procedures, permit-to-work systems and maintenance SOPs.
• Support maintenance improvement initiatives, equipment reliability and reduction of downtime.
• Coordinate with technicians, operators and contractors during maintenance activities.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and safety standards in the maintenance area.
• Work effectively in rotational shifts and attend emergency/breakdown maintenance requirements.

Candidate Profile

• B.Tech/B.E. or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institute.
• 2–6 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance and utility maintenance in a manufacturing/industrial plant.
• Hands‑on experience in preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Good knowledge of mechanical equipment and industrial utility systems.
• Experience in troubleshooting and root‑cause identification of mechanical breakdowns.
• Ability to coordinate with technicians, production and other departments.
• Good communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Candidate must be willing to work in rotational shifts.
• Candidates currently working in plant maintenance / mechanical maintenance / utility maintenance roles will be preferred.
