The-Search-House is seeking a Maintenance Machine Technician in Mumbai to keep chemical production machinery running smoothly. You will perform breakdown and preventive maintenance, support installation, and manage spare parts and safety practices.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in machine maintenance within chemical or related manufacturing and are proficient in mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting. The role is on-site at our Mumbai facility, with focus on equipment reliability.

Formación

• ITI or Diploma in mechanical trades with hands-on maintenance experience.
• 2–5 years in machine maintenance within chemical, FMCG, cleaning or pharma manufacturing.
• Knowledge of safety and LOTO procedures is essential.

Responsabilidades

• Attend breakdowns and identify root causes to minimize downtime.
• Perform preventive maintenance as per schedule and inspect for wear.
• Support installation, commissioning and modification of machines.
• Coordinate with operators and maintenance engineers for smooth handovers.
• Record maintenance activities and complete job cards.

Maintenance Machine Technician- Chemical Product Manufacturing

J ob Summary:

To ensure smooth and reliable operation of production machinery by carrying out preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance , identifying machine problems quickly, reducing downtime and maintaining equipment in safe working condition.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Breakdown Maintenance

• Attend machine breakdowns immediately and identify the root cause.
• Repair and restore production machines with minimum downtime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical problems.
• Replace damaged components such as bearings, belts, chains, couplings, seals, valves, etc.
• Escalate major or repeated breakdowns to the Maintenance Engineer/Manager.

Preventive Maintenance

• Carry out preventive maintenance as per the maintenance schedule.
• Inspect machines for abnormal noise, vibration, leakage, overheating and wear.
• Lubricate equipment and replace worn-out parts as required.
• Ensure proper tightening, alignment and adjustment of machine components.
• Complete preventive maintenance checklists after every activity.

Production Machinery Maintenance

Maintain and support machines such as:

• Liquid/chemical mixing tanks
• Agitators and mixers
• Transfer pumps
• Filling machines
• Capping machines
• Labelling machines
• Conveyors
• Sealing machines
• Dosing systems
• Air compressors
• Other production and utility equipment

Mechanical Maintenance

• Attend mechanical maintenance activities related to pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, couplings, valves and pipelines.
• Carry out basic fabrication, fitting, alignment and assembly work where required.
• Check machine alignment and vibration.
• Identify leakage from pumps, pipelines, tanks and valves.

Machine Installation & Modification

• Support installation and commissioning of new machines.
• Assist in machine shifting, alignment and levelling.
• Support machine modification and improvement projects.
• Coordinate with external machine vendors during installation and servicing.

Spare Parts Management

• Identify parts required for machine repair.
• Inform the Maintenance Engineer about critical spare requirements.
• Maintain proper usage of maintenance spares.
• Avoid unnecessary wastage of spare parts.

Safety

• Follow all maintenance safety procedures.
• Use appropriate PPE during maintenance activities.
• Follow LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures wherever applicable.
• Ensure machines are isolated before carrying out maintenance.
• Maintain proper housekeeping around the maintenance work area.
• Immediately report unsafe conditions.

Documentation & Reporting

• Record machine breakdowns and repair activities.
• Complete maintenance job cards.
• Maintain preventive maintenance checklists.
• Record spare parts used during repairs.
• Report breakdown duration and reason to the Maintenance Engineer.
• Maintain machine history wherever required.

Coordination

• Coordinate with Production Operators, Production Supervisors, QC and Maintenance Engineers .
• Take feedback from operators regarding machine abnormalities.
• Ensure machines are handed back to Production after proper testing.

Qualification:

• ITI – Fitter / Machinist / Mechanical
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering will be an added advantage.

Experience:

• 2–5 years of experience in machine maintenance.
• Experience in chemical, FMCG, cleaning products, hygiene products, pharmaceutical, food or similar manufacturing industries preferred.
