Job summary

Siemens Energy India Limited seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to manage high voltage GIS substations and associated protection schemes in 220kV/400kV networks. The role involves on-site maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of switchgear, relays, and SCADA interfaces.

The candidate should have 4–7 years in HV transmission operations, strong leadership, and hands-on experience with protection schemes and fault analysis. On-site work at substations with safety compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years' experience in HV power transmission operation and maintenance of GIS substations (220kV/400kV).
• Experience in testing of switchyard & GIS equipment and protection schemes (numerical with SCADA).
• Experience in offline and online condition monitoring of switchyard equipment and protection systems, including SCADA integration.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and preventive maintenance of HV GIS substations on site.
• Lead a team of engineers and skilled technicians at the site.
• Troubleshoot relay maloperations and perform fault analysis using disturbance records.

Job description

The Candidate should have 4 to 7 years of experience in in High Voltage Power Transmission Operation and Maintenance of High Voltage Gas insulated substations in 220kV and 400kV.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Graduate Engineer in Electrical Engineering with 4-6 years' experience or Diploma in Electrical Engineer with 5- 7 years in High Voltage Power Transmission Operation and Maintenance of High Voltage Gas insulated substations in 220kV and 400kV.
• Expert knowledge on Testing of Switchyard & GIS equipment's and Relay Protection system/scheme understanding (Numerical with SCADA).
• Experience in offline and online condition monitoring of switchyard equipment and protection systems, including integration with SCADA systems(Aided advantage)
• Preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of substation equipment and numerical relays.
• Troubleshooting of relay maloperations, fault analysis using disturbance records, event logs, and waveform analysis.
• Empowerment and Technical Training to site employees for Power Transmission products (Extra High Voltage Power Trafo, Isolators, LA, and GIS)
• Environment, health, and safety awareness as per Siemens Energy and customer's standards and protocols.
• Experience in electrical utility area will add advantages
• On site Periodic Preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, breakdown maintenance testing of substations
• A good team leader who can lead a team of Engineers and Skilled Technical persons at site.
• Customer centric approach and Good Analytical skills

We provide EPC for high and extra high voltage projects pertinent to AIS/GIS, Flexible Alternating Current Transmission System (FACTS) devices and High Voltage Direct Current Voltage Source Converter (HVDC VSC) technology. Further, we offer an extensive range of services for the complete lifecycle of the High Voltage /Extra High Voltage asset and projects including bay extension, substation modernisation, product retrofitting and overhauling, emergency services, breakdown services, Long Term Service Agreements (LTSAs), maintenance contracts, O&M contracts and spares.
