Job summary

2. Job Purpose

To ensure smooth operation of all plant machinery and electrical systems by performing preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs, electrical troubleshooting, and routine machine inspections.

3. Key Responsibilities

A. Machine Maintenance

• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of corrugation, printing, slotting, die-cutting, and other production machines.
• Identify mechanical faults and take corrective action.
• Inspect motors, bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, and lubrication systems.
• Minimize machine downtime and ensure smooth production operations.

B. Electrical Maintenance

• Troubleshoot electrical faults in motors, control panels, starters, sensors, contactors, and wiring.
• Inspect and maintain electrical connections, switches, MCBs, MCCBs, and distribution panels.
• Check motor performance and identify electrical failures.
• Attend electrical breakdowns and restore equipment safely.
• Monitor electrical supply and report abnormal conditions.

C. Preventive Maintenance and Documentation

• Follow daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance schedules.
• Maintain machine breakdown registers and preventive maintenance checklists.
• Record breakdown causes, repair time, and spare parts used.
• Report repeated breakdowns to the Maintenance Head / Plant Head.

D. Safety and Housekeeping

• Follow electrical safety procedures and lockout/tagout requirements.
• Use appropriate PPE while carrying out maintenance activities.
• Maintain 5S in the maintenance area and ensure proper storage of tools.
• Report unsafe electrical conditions immediately.

E. Coordination

• Coordinate with Production and PPC teams to plan maintenance activities.
• Ensure critical spare parts are available.
• Support installation, commissioning, and improvement of machinery.
• Complete assigned maintenance work within the planned time.

4. Required Skills

• Practical knowledge of industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot machine and electrical breakdowns independently.
• Knowledge of motors, wiring, panels, and basic electrical drawings.
• Ability to work in shifts and respond to production breakdowns.
• Good problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
