Tata Consultancy Services is seeking an experienced Mainframe MQ Administrator to support MQ in a 24x7 environment, focusing on installation, migration, maintenance and monitoring across batch, IMS and CICS environments.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, organizational and communication skills with hands-on experience in IBM MQ tools and z/OS components. PAN India operations may involve distributed and on-call work.

• Focus on MQ system performance, tuning and monitoring.
• Knowledge of SMP/E, HOLDDATA and MQ related libraries.

Responsabilidades

• Install, migrate and maintain MQ and related products.
• Understand and work on ISV products such as IBM Tivoli Omegamon XE, MQ Explorer, MQ Visual Edit and MQAUSX.
• Monitor MQ performance and tune as required.
• Configure QSG, CFSTRUCT, SMDS and group objects for MQ environments.
• Assist applications teams in MQ usage and integration with batch, IMS & CICS.
• Coordinate disaster recovery procedures and testing.
• Work with z/OS components like APF/LINKLIST/LPA/VSAM.

Must-Have

The Mainframe MQ System Programmer is responsible for all phases of MQ engineering and MQ operation functions. The candidate must be comfortable working with MQ in a 24x7 and must be able to support application developers in the use of MQ in batch, IMS & CICS environments. The MQ engineer should have strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.

Good-to-Have IBM MQ Explorer, MQ Visual Edit, IBM Tivoli Omegamon XE and Capitalware MQAUSX.

Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role.

• Knowledge on Installation, migration and maintenance of MQ and related products.


• Understand and work on ISV Products like IBM Tivoli Omegamon XE, IBM MQ explorer, MQ visual edit, MQAUSX v3.5 (capitalware) and homegrown tools.


• Knowledgeable in MQ system performance and Tuning as well as MQ Monitoring.


• Knowledge on QSG configuration/setup, CFSTRUCT, SMDS and Group object (qlocal, channel, Qremote, Process)definition.


• Understanding of how application interacts with MQ


• Knowledge on SMP/E, HOLDDATA, early codes, Zones/Libraries, System libraries, End of life, Review implementation procedures and make recommendations to ensure a smooth product release and system upgrades.


• Understanding of z/OS functions such as: APF, LINKLIST, LPA, VSAM.


• Ability to perform problem determination as well as interface with IBM problem support group.


• Familiar with Disaster Recovery procedures and test.


• Understanding of ACF2 Security.
