Own end-to-end delivery of aerospace MRO & general-purpose tooling programmes. It covers complete project execution from concept design through manufacturing, delivery, and commissioning. The role blends hands‑on engineering judgement in heavy fabrication and precision tooling with disciplined project management and cross‑functional leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Proposal and Order Winning: Lead RFQ evaluation, scope definition, cost estimation, risk assessment, and customer engagement to secure project awards.
- Design and Engineering Governance: Lead end-to-end design, reviews, and compliance for tooling and equipment, ensuring safe, manufacturable, and fabrication‑ready solutions.
- Validation and Qualification: Lead design validation, testing, inspections, and issue resolution to ensure safe, compliant, and qualified product delivery.
- Third-Party (Vendor) Manufacturing: Identify, qualify, and manage fabrication and machining vendors through RFQs, technical reviews, and supplier selection. Drive quality, cost, and delivery performance through inspections, build monitoring, and proactive issue resolution.
- Logistics, Installation and Commissioning: Manage global shipments, site installation, testing, commissioning, and customer handover to ensure successful project delivery.
- Project Management: Lead end-to-end project execution covering scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, and change management across the product lifecycle. Manage cross‑functional teams and customer relationships, driving execution excellence, stakeholder alignment, and continuous improvement.
- Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead multidisciplinary teams and cross-functional stakeholders, serving as the primary customer interface while driving capability development, standardization, and continuous improvement.
Skills & Attributes
Technical
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality requirements, & production constraints.
- Well-versed in fabrication, machining, and assembly processes & shop floor practices.
- Hand calculations, Structural analysis, FEA interpretation, Material selection, Surface treatments & Standard parts selection.
- Aerospace MRO practices.
- Hands‑on with CAD (CATIA/AutoCAD) & project planning tools.

Qualifications
- BE / B. Tech in Mechanical, Production or Industrial Engineering.
- 15+ years in tool engineering, special purpose or capital equipment design and build.
- Min. 5 years leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams and owning full project delivery.
- Proven track record of delivering heavy fabricated structures and precision tooling through external vendors.
Preferred Experience
- Direct experience in aerospace MRO tooling engine or airframe maintenance docks, stands, cradles, handling and transportation equipment.
- Combined design and manufacturing background; candidates who have both designed and built heavy fabricated assemblies are strongly preferred.
- Exposure to major MRO or OEM customers and their tooling approval and audit processes.
- Proven experience managing suppliers, site installation activities, and cross-functional teams in a customer-facing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to drive design standardization, cost optimization, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple projects.
