Job summary

BVR People Consulting in India seeks an experienced engineer with aerospace fixture design review expertise and 8–12 years of hands-on NPI experience to lead manufacturing process development and prove-outs. Job description

Candidate With Aerospace Background and Fixture Design Review experience with 8yr to 12yr

Role & Responsibilities
  • Process Development & NPI: Develop and define manufacturing processes for new parts (Method of Manufacturing), including PFMEA, Control Plans, and Inspection Plans. Drive successful, first-time-right (FTR) FAIR prove-outs.
  • Technical Reviews & Validation: Conduct comprehensive technical reviews to ensure product definition, design verification, and validation are complete prior to launch.
  • Machining & Tooling Expertise: Apply deep technical knowledge of CNC machines (Turning, Turn-mill, Milling, Mill-turn, EDMs). Evaluate, provide technical inputs, and approve modular aerospace fixture designs.
  • Quality & Documentation: Manage, review, and approve FAIR & PPAP documentation ensuring on-time delivery. Maintain strict revision control of internal engineering documents and drive QMS compliance.
  • Customer Integration: Interpret and seamlessly implement stringent manufacturing requirements for top-tier aerospace clients (e.g., Rolls-Royce, GE, Pratt & Whitney). Participate directly in customer/supplier meetings for technical issue resolution.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, guide, and mentor a team of Manufacturing Engineers through NPI activities. (Note: The Asst. Manager/Dy. Manager level requires advanced strategic leadership and team management).
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Production, NC Programming, and Fixturing teams to ensure smooth and successful NPI launches.
  • Digital Engineering Tools: Effectively manage and utilize engineering digital tools and platforms, specifically PLM (Teamcenter) and MES.
  • Continuous Improvement & Training: Standardize best manufacturing practices across the plant, conduct internal audits for process compliance, and train internal teams.
  • Special Processes Integration: Apply working knowledge of special aerospace processes, including Wire cut, Welding, NDT, Metal Spray, Plating, and Painting.

Preferred candidate profile
  • Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
  • Experience Level: 710 years for Advanced Engineer / Asst. Manager; 1015 years for Asst. Manager / Dy. Manager.
  • Industry Background: Proven track record in Aerospace manufacturing, Aviation, or high-precision engineering environments.
  • Core Technical Skills: Strong expertise in NPI lifecycle, CNC machining methodologies, GD&T, PFMEA, PPAP, and FAIR execution.
  • Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with PLM systems (specifically Teamcenter), MES, and modern manufacturing engineering software.
  • Client Familiarity: Prior experience handling components, standards, and compliance for major aerospace OEMs (Rolls-Royce, GE, Pratt & Whitney) is highly advantageous.
  • Leadership Qualities: Demonstrated ability to resolve complex shop-floor technical challenges, guide junior engineers, and drive a culture of first-time quality.
