Job summary

Adani Group in India is seeking a Setter for a Swiss Type Lathe (Make-Tornos) to operate a 4-axis turning machine. You will set up, program and optimize processes, read drawings, and participate in fixture development.

You will also mentor a small team of operators to ensure quality and production targets are met. You will need 5+ years of setup and programming experience on multi-axis lathes and proficiency with FANUC, SIEMENS, and HAAS controls.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of setup and programming experience with 4-axis lathes or Swiss-type lathes.
• Proficiency with FANUC, SIEMENS and HAAS multi-axis controls.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and select tooling.
• Experience in mentoring and supervising a small shift team.

Responsibilities

• Set up and program Swiss Type Lathe (Make-Tornos) on a 4-axis turning machine.
• Analyze drawings to decide machining strategies, select machines, tooling and work holding.
• Develop fixtures, part grippers, program tool paths directly on control or offline.
• Lead a shift of 5-7 operators, ensuring output quality and production targets.
• Inspect finished and WIP parts with precision instruments; uphold 5S/KAIZEN and safety.

Purpose/Objective

Work as a Setter on a Swiss Type Lathe (Make-Tornos) on a 4 Axis Turning Machine

Key Responsibilities of Role

• 5+ years of setup and programming experience with Special type lathes such DMG, Tornos etc Proficiency using FANUC, SIEMENS, HAAS multi-axis controls Analyze part drawings, recommend machining strategies, select machine & tooling and work holding Hand-on experience of development Design fixtures, part grippers, program tool paths, and Create part programs directly on control or using offline software.
• Able to analyze of any Gap/shortcomings in Production Process and Quality of Product.
• Part of troubleshooting team.
• Manage a team of 5-7 Operators (semi-skilled/ Trainee) in a shift to run a group of Machines like VMC/HMC/SPM/Lathe Directly supporting all other shift Operators and mentorship to ensure desired Output in terms of Quality & Production.
• Inspecting finished/WIP workpieces for conformance to specifications using different precision measuring instruments Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe and clean work environment Active participation in 5S & KAIZEN activities on the shop floor.
