Job summary

Neuman & Esser seeks an experienced CNC machinist to set up and operate DMG 5-Axis Turn-Mill machines (CTX/CLX) or similar. You will load materials, secure workpieces, verify tooling, and monitor operations to ensure quality.

The role requires reading technical drawings, basic program edits on Siemens/FANUC controls, and capability for First Piece and in-process inspections. ISO 9001/5S adherence and maintenance duties are expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 2–5 years of experience preferred; freshers may apply as DET.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining and turn-mill operations.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate DMG 5-Axis Turn-Mill machines (CTX/CLX) or similar.
• Load raw materials, secure workpieces, and ensure correct tooling is used.
• Monitor machining operations, make adjustments for quality and efficiency.
• Load and verify CNC programs using Siemens/Heidenhain controls; perform minor edits.
• Select, set, and offset tools based on operation sheets; monitor tool wear.
• Perform First Piece Inspection and In-Process Inspections with precision instruments.
• Ensure components meet dimensional and surface finish tolerances and report deviations.
• Conduct daily/weekly preventive maintenance checks and document logs.
• Maintain job sheets, inspection reports, and machine logs in compliance with ISO 9001 and 5S.

Role & responsibilities

Machine Operation

• Set up and operate DMG 5-Axis Turn-Mill machines (CTX/CLX ) series or similar).
• Load raw materials, secure workpieces, and ensure correct tooling is used.
• Monitor machining operations, make necessary adjustments, and ensure smooth running.

Program Handling

• Load and verify CNC programs using Siemens / Heidenhain controls.
• Perform minor editing of programs as required at the machine level.

Tooling Management

• Select, set, and offset tools based on the operation sheet.
• Monitor tool wear and replace tools as needed to maintain precision.

First Piece & In-Process Inspection

• Perform First Piece Inspection using precision instruments (micrometres, vernier, bore gauge, etc.).
• Conduct In-Process Inspections at defined intervals and maintain records.

Quality Assurance

• Ensure components are produced within dimensional and surface finish tolerances.
• Report any deviations or non-conformances to the QC or Production supervisor.

Machine Maintenance

• Conduct daily and weekly preventive checks.
• Report any abnormalities or maintenance needs to the maintenance team.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain job sheets, inspection reports, and machine logs.
• Follow ISO 9001 procedures, 5S practices, and safety guidelines.

Safety & Cleanliness

• Follow all safety norms while operating machines.

Qualification: Diploma - Mechanical Engineering

Experience: 2-5 years
