Job summary

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to operate double column CNC machines in Gurugram District. The role involves following machining schedules, performing quality checks, and maintaining production records while ensuring machine safety and efficiency.

The ideal candidate should have 3.9 to 9 years of experience, strong knowledge of CNC machining, and be able to troubleshoot using PDCA methods. Familiarity with Japanese manufacturing concepts like Kaizen is also expected.

Job description

Required Experience: 3.9 – 9 Years

Job Responsibilities

• Operate double CNC machines safely during assigned shifts (A/B/C) as per job instructions.
• Perform loading and unloading of die parts using proper handling methods and fixtures.
• Carry out job setup as per setup sheet, including fixture clamping, datum setting, and tool loading.
• Verify availability and condition of tools, fixtures, and NC programs before starting machining.
• Follow machining sequence, cutting parameters, and operation steps as defined in MOS and WIS.
• Monitor machining operations and report abnormalities such as tool wear, vibration, or sound.
• Perform basic troubleshooting related to tool change, offsets, and minor program issues.
• Measure machined parts using gauges or instruments and ensure compliance with drawing requirements.
• Maintain daily production records, machining hours, and part status updates.
• Support supervisor during tooling trials, setup changes, and process improvements.
• Follow quality checks to prevent rework and inform supervisor of deviations immediately.
• Ensure machine uptime by avoiding idle time and completing setup and checks within standard time.
• Maintain 5S, cleanliness, and safe working environment around the machine and work area.
• Follow safety procedures, PPE usage, and standard operating instructions at all times.
• Thorough knowledge of double column FANUC controller-based CNC machines.
• Knowledge of press dies/mold dies/die casting dies parts, functions, operations and tooling.
• Hands on experience in operation of double column CNC machines, Fanuc controller, MS Office.
• Ability to identify & resolve quality issues of machining quality, productivity, cost.
• Knowledge about QC tools like PDCA, 5 Why analysis etc.
• Understanding of Japanese manufacturing concepts like Kaizen, 5S, 3G etc.
• Good coordination, problem‑solving skills and team player capability.

Must Have Skill

• Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes and automotive die manufacturing.
• Ability to follow machining schedules and optimize machine utilization.
• Proven problem‑solving capability using PDCA for machining and quality issues.
• Proficiency in die drawing interpretation and measuring instrument usage.
