Job summary

Amara Raja Group seeks an Asst/Deputy Engineer - Production to operate CNC VMC machines and interpret 2D/3D drawings. You will set up tools, wear monitoring, and ensure accurate machining per production plans.

The role requires basic CAD/CAM knowledge and familiarity with ISO/TS quality systems, with emphasis on 5S, safety, and timely completion of tasks in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in machining mould components or precision parts.
• Basic CAD/CAM knowledge (PowerMill, MasterCAM, NX preferred).
• Understanding of ISO/TS quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC VMC machines as per production requirements.
• Read and interpret 2D/3D engineering drawings and part programs.
• Set up tools, fixtures, and workpieces for machining operations.
• Perform machine zero setting, tool offset, and program calling.
• Inspect parts using measuring instruments such as Vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, and bore gauge.
• Perform basic programming and program editing (Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi controllers).
• Ensure correct cutting parameters (speed, feed, depth of cut) for proper machining.
• Monitor tool wear and change tools as required to maintain accuracy.
• Ensure timely completion of machining jobs as per production plan.
• Maintain 5S and safety practices in the workplace.
• Coordinate with QC and engineering teams for first-piece approval.
• Report machine issues or part deviations immediately.
• Knowledge of G-code and M-code.
• Basic computer knowledge and understanding of production documentation.
