Job summary

Shaha Enterprise in Sambalpur, Odisha is seeking a skilled Machine Operator for our multi-product FMCG manufacturing plant. You will operate production and packaging machines, ensure product quality, and help maintain smooth manufacturing operations.

Preferred candidates have ITI certification and 5+ years in packing machine operation, with exposure to FMCG, tobacco, spice, or packaging industries. The role requires long shifts, physical stamina, and attention to safety and hygiene.

Qualifications

• ITI Certification or equivalent; 5+ years as Packing Machine Operator.
• Ability to stand for long shifts and lift heavy materials.
• Experience in FMCG, tobacco, food processing, spice, or packaging industries preferred.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools and computerized control panels.

Responsibilities

• Prepare machines for production cycles, calibrate and adjust settings.
• Monitor equipment to prevent jams and downtime; ensure smooth production flow.
• Inspect finished goods for defects; check weight, sealing and packaging standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor issues.
• Log production statistics and downtime; maintain daily reports.
• Coordinate with team and Head Office to plan production schedules and ensure timely orders.
• Load raw materials and packaging materials into machines as required.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area per policies.

Full Job Description

Looking for a skilled and responsible Machine Operator for our multi product FMCG manufacturing plant. The candidate will be responsible for operation of production and packaging machines, maintaining production quality and ensuring smooth manufacturing operations. Candidates having prior experience in FMCG, food processing, spice, tobacco or packaging industries will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Equipment Setup: Prepare machines for production cycles, including calibration, cleaning, and adjusting settings based on product specifications.
• Production Oversight: Monitor equipment during operation to prevent jams, errors, and production delays. Ensure smooth production flow with minimum downtime.
• Quality Control: Inspect finished goods or parts using precision measuring tools to identify defects and ensure they meet company standards. Check product quality, weight accuracy, sealing, and packaging standards.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance. Fix minor mechanical issues or escalated major breakdowns to maintenance teams. Ensure proper machine performance and reduce wastage during production.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Record Keeping: Log production statistics, track material usage, and document any equipment downtime or malfunctions. SOP compliance. Maintain daily production records and machine operation reports.
• Coordination and Production Planning: Coordinate and cooperate with other team members and Head Office to plan production schedules and ensure prompt delivery of orders.
• Machine Loading and Feeding: Load raw materials and packaging materials into machines when required.
• Hygiene & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized work area. Keep a tidy and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Work Experience: Candidates with experience in FMCG, tobacco, food processing, spice, or packaging industries will be preferred.
• Education & Practical Knowledge: ITI Certification and/or 5+ Years of working experience as Packing Machine Operator.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to stand for long shifts, lift heavy materials, and perform repetitive manual tasks.
• Technical Aptitude: Comfort using hand tools, power tools, and computerized control panels.
• Types of Machines: Hands-on experience with all of the following machines:-
