Job summary

Rockman in India is seeking an experienced LPDC Die Design Engineer to design aluminum automotive dies in line with customer specs and manufacturing feasibility. You will develop die concepts, run DFM reviews, and create detailed 2D/3D models and drawings for manufacturing validation.

The role requires 3–8 years in LPDC die design with proficiency in CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD and UG NX, and a Diploma/B.Tech in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of experience in LPDC Die Design or related field (Aluminium Die Casting).
• Diploma /B.Tech / B.E. degree (Automobile or Mechanical Engineering preferred).
• Proficiency in CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, UG NX software tools; strong understanding of tool design principles.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform DFM and manufacturability reviews during NPD.
• Prepare detailed 2D/3D die models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings.
• Coordinate with CFT teams for design validation.
• Implement design improvements based on trials and customer feedback.
• Support RFQ costing, technical feasibility discussions, die design reviews, FMEA and design validation activities.

Key Skills

• Sound knowledge of LPDC casting processes, die trials and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of gating, feeding, cooling and core design.
• Knowledge of IATF ISO Audits, DFM, APQP, PPAP, FMEA and engineering change management.
• Good problem-solving, communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
