Job summary

Aforeserve in Mumbai seeks an experienced Linux Administrator to join our on-site team. The role focuses on managing Linux servers, provisioning new hosts, hardening, patching, and maintaining day-to-day operations.

The ideal candidate has strong technical skills in Redhat Linux, OS hardening, patch management, and basic clustering concepts, with hands-on experience in user management and automation. Local India candidates preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have Redhat Linux installation and basic troubleshooting.
• Must follow OS hardening and security patching processes.
• Must have sudo access and ACL administration.
• Experience with Linux server provisioning and maintenance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adequate space in the operating system and file systems.
• Regular proactive purging of log files per security policy.
• Implement proactive patches/upgrades as recommended (RHEL).
• Monitor performance using customer-approved metrics/tools.
• Coordinate with Red Hat, HP backend and customer teams for patches/OS upgrades.
• Handle incident/change management per customer policy.
• Monitor OS logs for errors and tune reporting tools.
• Handover and takeover during shift switches.
• Basic understanding of Redhat Cluster, Pacemaker, RHEV.
• Basic ldap, NFS, user management, permissions, Ansible automation.
• OS installation and configuration related to network and applications.

Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Linux Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have
strong technical skills and experience in managing and supporting Linux Servers including new server
provisioning, Hardening, patching in day-to-day operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• 1) Ensure that appropriate space is available in the Operating system.
• 2) Regular proactive purging of Log files as per the CUSTOMER Security Policy. The frequency as well as the files to be purged has to be recommended by the Customer Security
• 3) Implement Proactive patch upgrades, if any, recommendation from RHEL
• 4) Performance monitoring as per the mutually agreed metrics between Customer and HP using the tool made available by Customer.
• 5) End to end coordination with the Red hat, HP backend & Customer teams for the proactive patches/OS patches/upgrades, Firmware updates, Installation/reinstallation, configuration/reconfiguration, corrective & preventive maintenance as per the terms Mentioned in the SLA.
• 6) Proper follow-up for Incident/Change management as per the defined policy by CUSTOMER
• 9) Monitor the Operating system logs for any errors in the operating system and escape, Accordingly. The reporting from the tool provided by CUSTOMER has to be tuned by the tool owner as Per recommendation by HP team.
• 10) Needful Handover & Takeover of shift switching.
• 11) Basic understanding on Redhat cluster Suite Pacemaker, RHEV
• 12 Basic understanding on ldap., NFS, user management, permission, Automation with Ansible skill
• 13) OS installation and configuration related to network and application.
