Job summary

Point72 is seeking a Linux Support Engineer in Bengaluru to monitor and manage Linux servers, perform production releases, and troubleshoot infrastructure components in a fast-paced environment.

You will work with Ansible, Git, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), implement automation, and document procedures while ensuring security and performance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Linux System Administrator in a production environment (Red Hat Enterprise Linux and/or Ubuntu).
• Experience with infrastructure as code, automation, and configuration management (Git, Bitbucket, GitHub, Ansible).
• Scripting with Bash or Python for automation and support.
• AD authentication integration with Kerberos; privilege management.

Responsibilities

• Actively monitor the Linux Support team's incident/request queue and prioritize tickets.
• Perform production releases following change management guidelines.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Linux servers and related components.
• Analyze post-incident RCAs and implement remedial actions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to monitor systems and logs; address issues proactively.
• Create and maintain system documentation and SOPs.

What you'll do

• Actively monitor the Linux Support team's incident/request queue, set prioritization, and process tickets in a timely manner
• Perform production releases while adhering to change management guidelines
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Linux servers and related hardware/software components
• Perform in-depth analysis for post impact resolution, RCA, remedial actions, and problem management
• Manage and troubleshoot AD integrated authentication on Linux servers
• Manage and troubleshoot existing Ansible playbooks used for configuration management across the Linux environment
• Collaborate cross-functionally to monitor system performance, analyze system logs, and proactively address issues
• Create and maintain system documentation including configuration guides, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting steps

What's REQUIRED

• 3+ years of experience as a Linux System Administrator in a production environment, with hands-on expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux and/or Ubuntu administration, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and ongoing support.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, automation, and configuration management concepts, including tools such as Git, Bitbucket, GitHub, and Ansible.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash or Python for automation, operational support, and task scripting.
• Strong understanding of authentication, privilege management, and integration with Active Directory, including related services such as Kerberos.
• Experience with storage and file-sharing technologies, including local disk management, LVM, network-based storage concepts, HBA/PowerPath, and remote mounts such as CIFS, Samba, and NFS for client and server configurations.
• Working knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and services, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and related infrastructure services.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, as well as AI tooling to support and streamline technical workloads.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with excellent organizational abilities, attention to detail
