Job summary

Point72 is seeking a seasoned Linux Systems Administrator in Bengaluru to strengthen our technology infrastructure. You will join a team that manages Ubuntu-based systems, ZFS storage, and cloud-ready platforms, collaborating with quants and developers to keep trading workloads running smoothly.

You’ll automate operations with Bash, monitor using Prometheus/Grafana, and participate in on-call rotations while upholding the highest ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years administering Ubuntu Linux systems and ZFS.
• Strong Linux fundamentals: processes, memory, CPU, filesystems, networking; systemd, cron, logging, apt.
• Shell scripting (Bash) experience.
• Familiarity with SSH, DNS, TCP/IP networking.
• Familiarity with monitoring/alerting tools: Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, Datadog.
• Ability to troubleshoot production issues under time constraints.
• Strong communication and team mindset; commitment to ethical standards.

What you’ll do

What’s REQUIRED

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience administering Ubuntu Linux systems and ZFS
• Strong understanding of Linux fundamentals including processes, memory, CPU, filesystems, and networking as well as systemd, cron, logging, and package management (apt)
• Experience with shell scripting (Bash)
• Familiarity with SSH, DNS, TCP/IP networking
• Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, Datadog)
• Ability to troubleshoot production issues in a time-constraint environment
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Commitment to the highest ethical standards
