Job summary

Point72 in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Linux System Administrator to join our Technology team. You will monitor and manage Linux environments, perform production releases, and troubleshoot both software and hardware components to ensure high availability.

You should have hands-on experience with Red Hat or Ubuntu, IaC concepts, and automation tools such as Ansible, Git, Bitbucket, or GitHub. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Linux System Administrator experience in a production environment.
• Hands-on with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and/or Ubuntu administration.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, automation, and configuration management tools including Git, Bitbucket, GitHub, and Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Linux incident/request queue, set priorities, and process tickets.
• Perform production releases following change-management guidelines.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Linux servers and related components.
• Conduct post-incident analysis, RCA, remediation actions, and problem management.
• Manage AD-integrated authentication on Linux servers.
• Maintain Ansible playbooks for Linux configuration management.
• Collaborate across teams to monitor performance and logs.
• Create system documentation and runbooks.

What you’ll do

• Actively monitor the Linux Support team’s incident/request queue, set prioritization, and process tickets in a timely manner
• Perform production releases while adhering to change management guidelines
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Linux servers and related hardware/software components
• Perform in-depth analysis for post impact resolution, RCA, remedial actions, and problem management
• Manage and troubleshoot AD integrated authentication on Linux servers
• Manage and troubleshoot existing Ansible playbooks used for configuration management across the Linux environment
• Collaborate cross-functionally to monitor system performance, analyze system logs, and proactively address issues
• Create and maintain system documentation including configuration guides, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting steps

What’s REQUIRED

• 3+ years of experience as a Linux System Administrator in a production environment, with hands‑on expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux and/or Ubuntu administration, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and ongoing support.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced production environment.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, automation, and configuration management concepts, including tools such as Git, Bitbucket, GitHub, and Ansible.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash or Python for automation, operational support, and task scripting.
• Strong understanding of authentication, privilege management, and integration with Active Directory, including related services such as Kerberos.
• Experience with storage and file‑sharing technologies, including local disk management, LVM, network‑based storage concepts, HBA/PowerPath, and remote mounts such as CIFS, Samba, and NFS for client and server configurations.
• Working knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and services, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and related infrastructure services.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, as well as AI tooling to support and streamline technical workloads.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with excellent organizational abilities, attention to detail
