Job summary

Point72 is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Cloud Infrastructure team in Bengaluru. You will design and operate Kubernetes-based infrastructure on Amazon EKS, using Karpenter for autoscaling and Terraform for provisioning.

You will manage PostgreSQL databases on AWS, IAM, and artifacts, while advancing our observability and CI/CD stack. You will collaborate with data engineers, contribute to secure, scalable deployments, and participate in on-call rotations to keep the platform resilient

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in CS/engineering.
• 4+ years in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or DevOps in production.
• Deep production Kubernetes expertise (EKS) with autoscaling, networking, and operations.
• Strong Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Solid AWS experience across EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, IAM.
• PostgreSQL or similar relational DBs in cloud environments.
• Hands-on with Helm, ArgoCD, GitOps workflows.
• Observability tooling: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch or similar.
• Experience with CI/CD: Bitbucket, Jenkins, GitHub, GitHub Actions.
• Scripting in Python and/or Bash; strong Linux fundamentals.
• Commitment to high ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, operate, and improve Kubernetes infrastructure on EKS with autoscaling and lifecycle management.
• Administer PostgreSQL databases in the cloud, including tuning and reliability not just queries.
• Own Infrastructure as Code using Terraform across AWS resources.
• Manage IAM roles, policies, and access patterns with security-first mindset.
• Maintain artifact registries (ECR) and respond to vulnerabilities in images.
• Develop monitoring/observability stack with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch.
• Support CI/CD tools (Bitbucket, Jenkins) and target GitHub actions migration.
• Collaborate with data engineers on infrastructure patterns and deployment best practices.
• Participate in on-call rotation for platform-level incidents.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Design, operate, and continuously improve our Kubernetes infrastructure on Amazon EKS, including Karpenter-based autoscaling, workload scheduling, and cluster lifecycle management
• Administer and tune PostgreSQL databases (on RDS) that back platform applications such as Airflow - handling configuration, parameter tuning, maintenance, and reliability, not query optimization
• Own our Infrastructure as Code using Terraform - provisioning, modifying, and auditing AWS resources including S3, EC2, RDS, EKS, and IAM
• Manage IAM roles, policies, and access patterns across our AWS environment with a security-first mindset
• Maintain our artifact registries (ECR, Artifactory) - enforcing retention policies, image versioning standards, and responding to infosec requests around package vulnerabilities and container image remediation
• Own and evolve our monitoring and observability stack (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch) - improving coverage, reducing noise, and evaluating the stack as needs change
• Support our CI/CD and source control environment across both current (Bitbucket, Jenkins) and target (GitHub, GitHub Actions) tooling as we migrate
• Collaborate with data engineers to define infrastructure patterns, containerization standards, and deployment best practices
• Participate in on-call rotation for platform-level incidents

WHAT'S REQUIRED

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or DevOps in production environments
• Deep expertise with Kubernetes in production - ideally Amazon EKS - including autoscaling (Karpenter or Cluster Autoscaler), networking, and day-to-day operations
• Strong proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure as code
• Solid AWS experience across EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, and IAM
• Experience administering PostgreSQL or similar relational databases in a cloud environment - configuration, tuning for specific workloads, and operational maintenance
• Hands-on experience with Helm, ArgoCD, and GitOps delivery workflows
• Experience with observability tooling - Prometheus, Grafana, and log aggregation (OpenSearch or similar)
• Familiarity with artifact management, container image lifecycle, and vulnerability remediation workflows
• Experience with code repository and CI/CD solutions such as Bitbucket, Jenkins, GitHub, and GitHub Actions
• Scripting and automation proficiency in Python and/or Bash
• Strong Linux fundamentals and comfort operating cloud-native production systems
