Job summary

Prodapt is seeking an experienced Linux Engineer to deploy, configure, and support enterprise Linux servers across production and non-production environments in Pan India. You will implement Linux OS such as NixOS, RHEL, GUIX, and other immutable platforms, and manage networking, firewall, and security controls.

You will collaborate with Network, Security, Cloud and Infrastructure teams, perform system upgrades and changes, and contribute to technical documentation and runbooks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of hands-on Linux administration and engineering experience.
• Strong deployment within enterprise Linux environments.
• Experience with NixOS, GUIX or other immutable Linux OS.
• Experience with Linux networking, security solutions and firewall tech.
• Hands-on with nftables and integration to enterprise firewalls.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and support enterprise Linux servers in prod and non-prod.

Job description

• We are looking for Linux Engineer with Linux with any os like NixOS or RHEL or GUIX or Immutable OS with nf tables or IP tables experience, Ansible python scripting
• Location: Pan India
• Deploy, configure, and support enterprise Linux servers across production and non-production environments.
• Implement and manage Linux operating systems, including NixOS, RHEL, GUIX, and other immutable OS platforms.
• Deploy and configure Linux-based networking and security services.
• Implement Linux firewall solutions using nftables and stateful firewall technologies.
• Configure Linux networking, including Layer 2 networking, routing, VLANs, and security zoning.
• Support deployment and integration of enterprise firewall platforms, including Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Check Point.
• Implement and troubleshoot Linux security controls, host hardening, and network segmentation.
• Configure and support Cilium for Kubernetes networking and security (where applicable).
• Deploy and maintain Suricata IDS/IPS and Zeek network monitoring solutions (preferred).
• Perform Linux system upgrades, patching, migrations, and implementation activities.
• Troubleshoot operating system, networking, firewall, and security-related issues.
• Collaborate with Network, Security, Cloud, and Infrastructure teams during project delivery.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, implementation guides, and operational procedures.
• Participate in change management activities and support implementation during maintenance windows.
• Ensure Linux environments comply with customer security policies and operational standards.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• Minimum 8 years of hands-on Linux administration and engineering experience.
• Strong experience with:
• NixOS
• GUIX or other immutable Linux operating systems
• Strong deployment and implementation experience within enterprise Linux environments.
• Experience implementing Linux networking and security solutions.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Layer 2 Networking
• TCP/IP
• VLANs
• Security Zoning
• Stateful Firewalls
• Hands-on experience with nftables.
• Experience integrating Linux environments with enterprise firewall platforms, including:
• Fortinet FortiGate
• Check Point
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience working in enterprise and data centre environments.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Cilium for cloud-native networking and security.
• Experience deploying or administering Suricata IDS/IPS.
• Experience using Zeek for network traffic analysis and security monitoring.
• Knowledge of container platforms such as Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with Linux automation and configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, SaltStack).
• Scripting experience using:
