Purpose/Objective
This role is significant for ensuring availability & maintenance of Linux infrastructure.
Involves supporting the administration of Linux servers & systems, ensuring their optimal performance & security.
Monitor system performance & perform routine maintenance & testing tasks while adhering to security procedures & policies and ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements.
Key Responsibilities of Role
- Linux Infrastructure Management: Assist in managing and maintaining Linux infrastructure.
- Linux Server Administration: Support the administration of Linux servers, ensuring availability, performance, and security.
- System Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor system performance and availability, performing regular maintenance tasks to ensure optimal operation of Linux environments.
- Incident and Service Request Support: Provide support for Linux-related incidents and service requests, escalating issues as needed for timely resolution.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Generate reports on system performance and health metrics.
- Security Compliance and Best Practices: Implement and adhere to security policies, procedures, and best practices for Linux environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Work collaboratively with network engineers, system administrators, and other IT teams to ensure integrated and efficient operations of Linux systems.
- Change Management in Linux Environments: Assist in managing changes to Linux environments through rigorous testing, coordination, and documentation to minimize risks and disruptions.

Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor or master degree in computer science or computer engineering or information technology or information systems.
- Preferred Certification(s): RedHat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) / CCNA / VCP Experience: 1-6 8-12 yrs years of hands-on experience in supporting Linux systems within a data center or IT infrastructure environment.
- Understanding of Linux operating systems (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc. ) & knowledge of scripting language (Bash, PowerShell) for automation & task execution.
- Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks. .
