Job summary

Alike Thoughts in Chennai seeks an experienced IT Server Administrator to join our 24x7 operations. The role combines Windows Server and Linux administration, L2 support, patching, hardening, and performance tuning across on-prem and cloud environments.

You will manage AD/GP, PowerShell scripting, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), backups with Commvault, monitoring with SCOM, and ensure system security and reliability.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022.
• Provide Level 2 support for server-related issues and escalate when needed.
• Apply security patches and updates to protect systems.
• Diagnose and resolve system performance issues (hardware, software, network).
• Experience with AD, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Familiarity with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS).
• Experience with backup tools (Commvault) and monitoring (SCOM).
• Linux server administration including RedHat, CentOS, Oracle Linux.
• Linux activities: patching, hardening, filesystem extensions.
• Monitor disk space, CPU and memory utilization.
