Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Hyderabad is seeking a Linux Administrator to manage RHEV and Oracle virtualization environments, Linux servers, clusters, and patching. The role includes monitoring, provisioning, and upgrading Red Hat OS via Satellite, plus DNS/NTP duties and VM management.

The candidate will handle health checks in datacenters, VM migrations, and troubleshooting with VNC, requiring strong L2 support capabilities and vendor coordination.

Qualifications

• Knowledge on handling L2 activities
• Experience with Linux server provisioning and patching
• Experience with virtualization (RHEV/Oracle) environments
• Experience with RHEL/OEL environments and clustering
• Experience with LVM and basic VNC troubleshooting

Responsibilities

• Manage RHEV virtualization monitoring including datastore status, hosts, VMs, and creation of VMs and datastores
• Manage Oracle virtualization monitoring including repository/host/VM status and VM creation
• Manage Linux servers and Red Hat/OEL clusters; monitor disk space; raise vendor cases; patching
• Upgrade/Update Red Hat OS via Red Hat Satellite; apply fixes and close vulnerabilities
• Monitor incidents, service requests and OEM case follow-ups
• Perform health checks on datacenter physical servers
• Manage LVM and troubleshoot Linux issues; configure/troubleshoot VNC

Role & - Linux Administrator

Required Technical Skill Set** -Knowledge on handling L2 activities

responsibilities -

1.Managing RHEV Virtualization Monitoring RHEV environment for datastore related alerts, Host/VM status,etc. Creation of datastore,Addition of Hosts, Migration of vms within clusters, Creation of VMs etc.

OR

Managing Oracle Virtualization Monitoring Oracle environment for repository related alerts,Host/VM status,etc. Creation of repository,Addition of Hosts, Migration of vms within clusters, Creation of VMs etc.

2.Managing Linux servers, Redhat clusters in RHEL7/8.X, OEL 6/7 Monitoring disk space, Raising case with vendor for any abrupt reboots and following up for RCA. Provisioning servers based on requirement on RHEL/OEL. Managing NTP servers and BIND dns servers. Applying critical patches and maintaining servers with latest updates.

3.Update & Upgrade of Redhat OS environments using Redhat satellite, Closure of reported vulnerabilities by applying fixes or patches

4.Monitoring incidents, interactions, Service Request & OEM Case Follow up.

5.Health checks on physical servers hosted on datacenter.

6.Managing LVM, Troubleshooting the issue in Linux servers, VNC configuration/troubleshooting.
