Job summary

Ashtech Infotech in Mumbai is seeking a Senior Linux System Engineer with 4–8 years of experience to design, build, and maintain highly available Linux systems. You will manage Red Hat/CentOS/Oracle Linux/Ubuntu environments and participate in datacenter deployment, expansion, and relocation activities.

The role requires strong Linux expertise, ability to perform OS/kernel upgrades, tune performance, and serve as L2 escalation point across production and non-production environments.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech or equivalent required.
• 4–8 years of relevant experience.
• Strong Linux system administration skills and problem solving.

Role: Senior Linux System Engineer

Location: Mumbai

Eligibility: B.E / B.Tech or equivalent

Job Description :

Design, build, and maintain highly available, secure, and scalable Linux systems

Manage and optimize Red Hat / CentOS / Oracle Linux / Ubuntu environments

Perform rack mounting, cabling, and physical deployment of servers in datacenter environments

Participate in datacenter setup, expansion, and relocation activities Install, upgrade, and patch OS, kernel, and system packages

Perform performance tuning across CPU, memory, storage, and network layers

Act as L2 escalation point for Linux-related incidents across production & non-production environments

Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for critical and recurring issues Support virtualized and cloud platforms (VMware / AWS / Azure / GCP) Perform hardware replacement tasks such as CPU, Memory , disk etc.. on oracle and DELL hardware.

Ensure compliance with security standards and VAPT recommendations Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and runbooks Provide technical guidance and mentor L1 / L2 engineers
