Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Delhi is seeking a Linux Admin to maintain server availability and manage OpenShift environments. The role requires 4–10 years of experience and hands-on expertise with RHEL, OpenShift, and storage management.

You will configure, monitor, and optimize Linux servers, perform migrations, patching, and collaborate with OS, storage, backup, and security teams to ensure SLA compliance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain availability of servers per client SLA.
• Configure NFS and FTP servers.
• Manage users, roles and secure access.
• Manage logical volumes and disks.
• Monitor and tune Linux servers; handle outages and changes.
• Migrate servers and data; perform file transfers.
• Restore root and other file systems after corruption.
• Schedule jobs and automate processes.
• Create Linux VMs and OS installation on OpenShift.
• Collaborate with OS, Windows, Backup and Development teams.
• Patch management and firmware upgrades for physical servers.
• Identify, isolate and troubleshoot incidents.
• Server commissioning and decommissioning.
• Collaborate with Storage/Networking/Backup/Security teams.
• Prepare reports for business partners and management.
• Interact with OEMs/vendors to resolve service requests.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for maintaining availability of servers as per clients SLA.

Configuration of NFS & FTP servers

User creation and Roles management and secure access

Logical Volume & Disks management.

Monitors, tracks, and maintains the performance of Linux servers in operation on changes as necessary- responds to application outages and resolves the issues post changes related to applications according to change management procedures and scope.

Server & Data Migration & file transfer

Restoration of root and other file systems on corruption

Jobs & Process scheduling, Process automation

Creation of Linux VM and OS installation and configuration on virtual platform OpenShift

Collaboration with OS teams such as Linux,/OpenShift, Windows, Backup, Application development team.

Patch Management & Firmware upgrade of the physical servers

Identifies, isolates, and troubleshoots issues on incidents and problem management.

Server commissioning and decommissioning.

Collaboration with Storage, Networking, Backup & Security teams

Creation and submission of various reports regular & on demand by the business partners and management

Interaction with business partners, OEMs/vendors and application/Development teams to solve problems and do service requests.
