Job summary

OSI Digital is seeking a Linux Administrator with 5 to 12 years of hands-on Linux system administration experience. The role covers Red Hat/OEL 6–8, server network, SAN configuration, OS upgrades, and patch installation.

The position offers growth into senior roles and exposure to cloud technologies (AWS, OCI, Azure) and automation tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet). The candidate will work 24x7 shifts on rotation, manage Linux servers across on-prem and cloud, and handle virtualization and backup

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Linux administration in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on with Red Hat Enterprise Linux versions 6–8.
• Experience with virtualization and cloud (AWS/OCI/Azure).
• Experience with SAN storage and server hardware.
• Scripting in shell or Perl.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Linux servers for on-premises and cloud projects.
• Manage 24x7 shifts on a rotational basis.
• Administer Linux OS and patch management across environments.
• Configure and monitor infrastructure using Zabbix.
• Work with VMware, VCenter, VSphere, ESXi and related tools.

Job description

OSI Digital is looking for Linux Administrator who must have Hands on 5 to 12 yrs of experience in Linux System administration (RedHat/OEL 6, 7 and 8) including server network and SAN configuration, OS upgrades, Patch installation.

• If successful in this position, the individual will advance to the level of senior Linux administrator, Associate Team Leader, and Team Leader, as well as receive technology training covering numerous cloud technologies (AWS, OCI, AZURE), as well as automation tools (Ansible, Chef and Puppet).

Responsibilities

• Able to work 24X7 shifts on rotational basis for multiple projects.
• Linux server management for both on-premises and cloud-based servers for multiple projects.
• Administration of Linux OS (RHEL/OEL Versions 6, 7 and 8)
• Strong Knowledge in installing, configuring, troubleshooting and Administration of all flavors of Linux.
• Linux Vulnerability assessment and Mitigation
• Good knowledge on HP & Dell Servers and Virtual Connect OS, patch, security update and management.
• Managing and configuring Zabbix monitoring for a variety of devices.
• Administration of AWS, OCI, AZURE cloud technologies.
• Hands on Backup Administration - Veritas, Veeam or VRanger would be preferable
• Experience in Oracle Virtualization technologies OVM and OLVM.
• Working knowledge of VMware, VSphere, VCenter, ESXI, VMotion, HA, etc., as well as upgrading VMware tools, VCenter, VSphere, etc.

Required Skills

• Previous working experience as a Linux Administrator for 8 to 12 years
• Knowledge of HPE and Dell hardware (x86_64) and RAID concept
• It is advantageous to have some working knowledge of SAN technologies and scripting languages like shell and perl.
• Excellent communication, team coordination, interpersonal skills and customer care skills are mandatory
• Demonstrated ability to use problem solving techniques such as root cause analysis to resolve issues.
• Certifications in Linux and cloud are an added advantage
