Job summary

Choice International is seeking an experienced Manager Legal to provide comprehensive legal support across the organization in Mumbai. The role focuses on commercial contracts, legal advisory, contract negotiations, regulatory compliance, risk management and dispute resolution to support consulting assignments, joint ventures, consortiums, procurement and commercial transactions.

You will draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, consultancy agreements, MoUs, NDAs, JV/Consortium

Qualifications

• 8+ years of post-qualification experience in corporate legal or commercial contracts.
• Strong experience in drafting and negotiating commercial and consultancy agreements.
• Knowledge of Contract Law, Corporate Law, Arbitration, Dispute Resolution and Regulatory Compliance.
• Experience in infrastructure consulting, EPC, real estate or project development preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, NDAs, MOUs and JV/Consortium agreements.
• Provide legal support during bid submissions, contract negotiations and project execution.
• Advise business teams on contractual, regulatory and legal matters.
• Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate litigation, arbitration and disputes with external counsel.
• Ensure compliance with corporate, commercial, labour and statutory laws.
• Develop and standardize legal templates and contract management processes.
• Conduct legal research and provide opinions on regulatory and business issues.
• Support senior management on governance and policy formulation.
• Work with cross-functional teams to provide practical legal advice.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Manager Legal to provide comprehensive legal support across the organization. The role will focus on commercial contracts, legal advisory, contract negotiations, regulatory compliance, risk management and dispute resolution, supporting consulting assignments, joint ventures, consortiums, procurement and commercial transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, consultancy agreements, MoUs, NDAs, JV/Consortium Agreements, Sub-Consultancy Agreements and other legal documents.
• Provide legal support during bid submissions, contract negotiations and project execution.
• Advise business teams on contractual, commercial, regulatory and legal matters.
• Identify contractual and legal risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution matters with external legal counsels.
• Ensure compliance with applicable corporate, commercial, labour and statutory laws and regulations.
• Develop and standardize legal templates, contract management processes and compliance frameworks.
• Conduct legal research and provide legal opinions on emerging regulatory and business issues.
• Support senior management on strategic legal matters, governance and policy formulation.
• Work closely with business, procurement, finance and project teams to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.

Desired Candidate Profile

• 8+ years of post-qualification experience in corporate legal, commercial contracts or consulting-related legal matters.
• Strong experience in drafting and negotiating commercial and consultancy agreements.
• Good knowledge of Contract Law, Corporate Law, Arbitration, Dispute Resolution and Regulatory Compliance.
• Experience in infrastructure consulting, EPC, real estate or project development will be preferred.
• Strong legal drafting, analytical, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to independently handle multiple assignments and provide commercially practical legal advice.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
