Job summary

Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd. is seeking a legal professional with 3–6 years of in‑house experience to handle commercial contracting, licensing and regulatory matters in India.

The role emphasizes drafting and negotiating MSAs, service and vendor agreements, and providing pragmatic risk guidance to business teams. You will collaborate with Finance, Procurement, Compliance and Regulatory teams to ensure alignment with internal policies and applicable Indian laws.

Qualifications

  • LLB degree from a recognized university.
  • 3–6 years in-house experience in pharma/healthcare or related fields preferred.
  • Solid understanding of Indian regulatory laws for pharma sales, marketing, and distribution.

Job Description

1. Commercial Contracting & Negotiation

  • Draft, review, negotiate and support execution of standard and moderately complex commercial agreements.

  • Work on agreements such as confidentiality agreements, service agreements, vendor agreements, supply and distribution agreements, consultancy agreements, statements of work, amendments, extensions and other business contracts.

  • Review clauses relating to scope, payment terms, liability, indemnity, termination, confidentiality, governing law, dispute resolution, data protection and compliance obligations.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and counterparties to close contracts within agreed timelines.

  • Use approved templates, playbooks, fallback positions, and internal approval processes wherever applicable.

2. Business Development and M&A

  • Draft, review, and negotiate various in-licensing and out-licensing agreements, asset purchase agreementsandbinding/non-bindingoffers.
  • Work closely with the relevant internal teams in conducting due diligence

3. Legal Advisory and Risk Support

  • Provide practical legal support to business and functional teams on routine legal and contractual matters.

  • Identify legal and commercial risks in contracts and business proposals and elevate material issues appropriately.

  • Support teams in understanding contractual obligations, approval requirements and risk‑mitigation options.

  • Help ensure that legal advice aligns with applicable laws, internal policies, compliance requirements and business needs.

4. Stakeholder and Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with business teams, Finance, Tax, Procurement, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Compliance, Data Privacy and other enabling functions.

  • Coordinateinputsfrom relevant teams so that contracts are reviewed holistically.

  • Support timely closure of matters through disciplined follow‑up and clear communication.

  • Build effective working relationships while maintaining legal independence and objectivity.

  • Stakeholder responsiveness and quality of support.

  • Compliance with internal legal processes,templates,and documentation requirements.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a reputable university. Experience:3–6 years of in‑house experience in a company or a law firm. Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, life sciences, manufacturing, chemical or allied industry is preferred. Expertise: Solid understanding of Indian regulatory laws related to pharmaceutical sales, marketing, and distribution including without limitation, Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and Rules, Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act and UCPMP. Contracting Skills: Strong drafting and negotiation skills for MSAs, IT services, and commercial agreements. Soft Skills: High emotional intelligence, self‑motivated, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
