Paralegal and Legal Assistant
Responsibilities
Assist with drafting, reviewing, and formatting contracts (e.g., service agreements, NDAs, basic commercial contracts).
Conduct trademark research and preliminary trademark analysis, including name availability checks on the USPTO database.
Support business formation tasks, including preparing entity formation documents (LLCs, corporations), operating agreements, and filings with various Secretary of States.
Perform legal research and prepare summarized findings for attorney review.
Organize and maintain legal documents, templates, and client files.
Assist with client onboarding documentation and intake forms.
Manage legal correspondence and prepare draft client communications as instructed.
Update and maintain matters within legal practice management software (e.g., Clio, DocketTrak, or similar).
Track deadlines, filings, and follow-ups to ensure timely task completion.
Maintain structured digital filing systems and document version control.
Handle sensitive legal and client information with strict confidentiality.
Adhere to firm processes, checklists, and security protocols at all times.
