Job summary

MAN Truck & Bus India Pvt. Ltd is seeking a Sourcing Manager (Commodity & Project) to ensure procurement quality and capacity for parts in running production.

You will work across Sweden & Asia, supporting the business plan while expanding your sourcing expertise. The role requires 14–18 years of experience in purchasing and supplier management within automotive industries, with hands-on sourcing of castings, forgings, machined parts, or standard components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering, Automobile Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Production Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
• 14 to 18 years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, supply chain, procurement, or supplier management within automotive/manufacturing/engineering industries
• Experience handling suppliers from India and knowledge of global procurement processes

Responsibilities

• Sourcing of parts within product development projects aligned with strategies and plans.
• Identifies new suppliers connected to new technologies to improve TQDCS.
• Negotiates quotes and ensures project and technical alignment from concept to SOCOP +6 months.

Your Tasks –

The main responsibility of the Sourcing Manager (Commodity & Project) is to ensure the procurement to the right ccost and the right capacity of parts in running production, by independently performing activities and supporting the Sweden & Asia and aligned with the Business Plan. In this role you further broaden / deepen own professional skills, competences and expertise.

To ensure that you will-

Material group responsibilities

• Provides input to the supplier base
• Identifies new suppliers connected to new technologies within the product development projects (PD) to ensure improvement of Technology, Quality, Delivery and Cost, focusing on Sustainability (TQDCS).

Sourcing responsibilities

• Sourcing of parts within product development projects, aligned with strategies and decided in the material group management/business plan.
• Sources prototypes with possible support.
• Quote review, feedback and negotiation.
• Ensures that offers are comparable from a project and technical point of view.
• Ensures purchasing and supplier time plan from concept phase to start of customer order production (SOCOP) +6 months, including Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) request and submission, and material home.
• Ensures project and technical aspects during negotiations, such as non-disclosure agreements (NDA) and development contracts and technical reviews within the Forward Sourcing process.
• Evaluates and negotiates change requests.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering, Automobile Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Production Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
• 14 to 18 years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, supply chain, procurement, or supplier management within automotive, manufacturing, engineering industries or International procurement (Global sourcing).
• Experience in handling suppliers from India.
• Hands on experience in working on sourcing of Castings or Forgings or Machining or standard components is must. Experience on other commodities is added advantage.
• Knowledge of procurement systems, ERP tools, supplier quality processes, Microsoft Office, especially Excel and engineering change management will be an added advantage.
