Job summary

SimCorp is seeking a Lead/Sr. Backend Software Engineer (C#.NET) to shape our next-gen platform. You will develop scalable backend services, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and advance architectural evolution across product areas.

Qualifications

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Data Science or similar.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Strong C# programming skills and understanding of high-quality code.
• Experience with SQL and Oracle databases.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, parallel programming, agile methods, and AI tooling.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

• Develop modern platform capabilities and contribute to application modernisation initiatives
• Deliver innovative user-facing capabilities that enhance user experience, increase adoption and support the evolution of our next-generation product landscape
• Build and maintain scalable backend services, ensuring performance and reliability
• Drive technical excellence through sound engineering practices, forward-thinking problem solving and continuous improvement of our products, platform and development processes
• Help support SimCorp's modern technology landscape by contributing to strategic engineering initiatives and architectural evolution
• Collaborate closely with product owners, architects and engineering teams across multiple product areas to deliver high-quality solutions that integrate seamlessly into the broader ecosystem
• Constantly learn and improve yourself, the team, and our product - for example by experimenting with modern engineering practices such mob programming, test driven development, AI driven development approaches, including prompt engineering, code generation, and AI supported testing and refactoring

WHAT WE VALUE

• You have a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Data Science or similar
• More than 5 years of experience working in software engineering
• Solid programming experience in C# and understanding of what good code means is mandatory
• Well-developed problem-solving skills and expertise in software engineering practices are required
• Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms, with solid testing, debugging, and analytical skills
• Knowledge in SQL and Oracle
• Experience in DevOps Tools and Parallel Programming
• Experience with working in an agile way and a continuous improvement mindset
• Experience working in an international setting with people from many different cultures
• Positive and constructive approach; you contribute to a productive and supportive work environment
• Initiative-driven, organized, and improvement-focused
• Effective communication skills and fluency in English (spoken and written)
• Experience with Agentic AI
