GE Vernova in Bengaluru seeks an experienced Lead Engineer to own and drive Should Cost and Cost Out initiatives for Gas Power commodities. You will lead cross-functional teams across Sourcing, Mfg, and Engg to leverage cost insights for supplier negotiations and deflation outcomes.
The role requires a strong background in should cost analysis, project leadership, and familiarity with cost modelling tools, with a focus on delivering cost-out benefits and business value.

Should Cost is a physics-based cost analysis to better understand cost drivers and improve negotiation leverage. Availability of Should cost data helps sourcing make right negotiations with suppliers. The goal of this assignment is to- Estimate should cost of Sourced parts; Gain insights from should cost analysis to deliver cost out benefits partnering with Sourcing & P2V teams The Lead Engineer will be leading Gas Power Should Cost projects, demonstrate project leadership skills to achieve on time deliverables. In this role you will be working closely with Sourcing, Digital, Mfg & engg teams to align Should Cost team efforts with biz priorities & contribute to cost out goal.
Own Should Cost & Cost out initiatives for Gas Power commodities. Drive execution of Sourcing Should Cost project – plan resources & timelines, track progress, manage risk, pivot (as required), identify potential opportunities from should cost studies, partner with sourcing to leverage should cost estimates for supplier negotiations & track deflation outcomes. Partner with Supply Chain (VPE, Mfg & Sourcing ), P2V teams to enable Cost Out and Strategic Sourcing Pillars on Should cost efforts to influence Should Cost Vs Deals review, Make Vs Buy etc... Facilitate brainstorming sessions within the project team to identify cost out opportunities from Should Cost efforts, formulate recommendations & partner with P2V teams & component owners to drive value engineering projects. Leverage Digital/AI methodologies to drive process & product productivity. Demonstrate exceptional innovational skills with speed. Develop new methodologies/tools to identify cost out opportunities. Establish complete ownership on traditional & digital/AI initiatives for the commodity operations. Provide coaching & mentoring to the team on Mfg, Cost out processes & negotiation dynamics. Work closely with Cost model development program team in providing insights on costing methods improvement & validation.
Bachelor's/Masters degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 10 years of experience in should cost A minimum of 5 years of experience in Mfg domain, sourcing, experience in supplier negotiations leveraging should cost. Demonstrate expertise on aPriori & other should cost modelling tools Demonstrate beginner level awareness python, jupytr and other big data analytics platforms Demonstrate fluency in Microsoft Excel usage to develop cost model templates Demonstrated project leadership and awareness/exposure to LEAN methodologies to achieve program goals Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and influence customer and peers across cross functional global teams Demonstrated expertise in product cost out, should cost analysis, driving cost out ideas to closure to achieve biz benefits. Demonstrated understanding of the financial impact of technical solutions
