Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a senior sourcing leader to develop and execute a global commodity strategy for Power Electronics & Electrical commodities. The role requires coordinating with regional teams and various GE entities to optimize total landed cost.

Ideal candidates bring 12+ years in sourcing, strong leadership, strategic thinking, and exceptional negotiation skills. Travel readiness and a background in engineering or MBA are preferred.

Qualifications

Job Description Summary

This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and leading the overall global commodity strategy for Power Conversion & Storage representing a spend of approx $150M+.

This role will require coordination with the Regional (P&L) Sourcing teams, with Electrification segment but also with GEV sourcing organization to ensure a cohesive global strategy, coordinating sourcing efforts and policy, and executing initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and lead the overall global commodity strategy for Power Electronics & Electrical commodities.
• Partner with all GE Power Conversion & Storage sites and lead the development & execution of global sourcing strategies.
• Leverage broader GE Electrification and other GE Vernova businesses.
• Develop technical and market expertise.
• Drive the supplier diversity and sustainability priorities aligned with global strategy, by aiming risk mitigation and competitiveness.
• Lead the evaluation and selection of new suppliers, development of existing suppliers, and overall supplier management.
• Drive sourcing initiatives including growing shared supplier spend, best cost country (BCC), productivity, rationalization of supply base, sole source reduction, cycle reduction, on time delivery and quality improvements, lean & pull production, and cash flow improvement.
• Put in place and manage supplier contracts / supply agreements.
• Understand business compliance requirements and drive opportunities to eliminate compliance risk as well as driving initiatives to remediate concerns.
• Be responsible for delivering improvements to key sourcing metrics to include Quality Performance, Fulfillment, and Cost.
• Be an active partner with the supply chain to develop optimal make vs. buy strategies to optimize Quality, Fulfillment and Total Landed Cost for the commodity.

Experience and skills

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Sourcing - Electrical/mechanical or MBA are preferred. 12 plus years’ experience in sourcing Experience in leadership roles within a complex, global matrixed managed multi-site organization Broad competence in sourcing analysis Defining a strategy Basic knowledge of supplier audit and performance evaluation Fluency in English Figures management; able to use database. Business understanding Good understanding of international Business & Sourcing Good knowledge of the Company’s operations & of the local marketplace Contracting Desired Characteristics Integrity and autonomy. Able to shape strategy and direction. Leadership and power to convince and reach other’s agreement, in a non-direct management scheme.
