Job summary

Arabelle Solutions in India seeks an experienced Manufacturing Process Engineer to establish detailed manufacturing processes for heavy machining components. You will lead lean initiatives, drive SQDC metrics, and coordinate with lead factories to implement best practices.

The role focuses on CNC turning, milling, boring and tooling, with strong emphasis on safety, quality, and on-time delivery. You will mentor shop engineers and push continuous improvements across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience in defining manufacturing processes for heavy machinery.
• Strong knowledge of CNC turning, milling, boring and tooling.
• Familiarity with SAP and CATIA for design and planning.
• Exposure to lean tools like 5S, PFMEA, 8D, VSM.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and finalize manufacturing processes as MOPs & SOPs before production.
• Determine optimum handbook hours for each project.
• Plan tools, jigs, fixtures, and procure equipment for production.
• Coordinate with Shop Planner for scheduling and outsourcing.
• Identify and resolve technical issues during production.
• Coordinate NCR disposition with engineering and implement corrective actions.
• Record lessons learned and update processes.
• Apply quality and lean tools like VSM, PFMEA, 8D, 5S.
• Empower shop engineers for process changes.
• Drive new product qualification and documentation.
• Improve manufacturing processes continuously.
• Use analytical thinking to make decisions.
• Support cross-functional teams to deliver customer solutions.
• Estimate hours for upcoming projects.

Job Description:

Overall Target Of The Position

Establish the detailed manufacturing processes of the job by utilizing own experience and coordination with lead factories for implementing their best processes and practices. Drive the culture of continuous improvements and take lean initiatives.

Drive and coordinate the execution of Machine Shop operations, machining processes related to machining wing to wing with (SQDC). Zero deviation in Safety and Quality. Ensure alignment of different stakeholders to achieve OTD & shop Utilization.

Responsibilities

• Define and finalize the manufacturing process in the form of MOPs & SOPs for every component of rotary part in advance to the start of production.


• Work out optimum handbook hours in detail for every project.


• Envisage requirement of project tools, accessories, jig & fixture and tackles required for production and drive procurement for timely availability.


• Coordinate and support Shop Planner for project scheduling and outsourcing of process activities ensuring efficient utilization of resources.


• Identifies & resolves technical issues prior to the start and during the production processes.


• Coordinate with engineering for NCR disposition as applicable and implement corrective actions in future jobs.


• Record the lesson learnt, process improvements and sustain through continuous updating of manufacturing process.


• Usage of various quality and lean tools viz. VSM, PFMEA, 8D and 5S


• Empower and support shop engineers for process change suggestions and implementation.


• Drive new product qualification and prepare related documentation.


• Continuously improve manufacturing process


• Uses technical experience and analytical thinking to arrive at decisions.


• Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field.

• Excellent process engineering capabilities and analytical skills.


• Thorough knowledge of heavy machining and assembly processes, Know-how of steam turbine and Generator is beneficial.


• Key manufacturing process – CNC turning, Milling, boring, tooling, Job set up and inspection/quality method.


• Thorough understanding of Engineering Drawings, Standards and Specifications


• Strong EHS & quality focus


• Knowledge of Jig & Fixture and cutting tools.


• Basic knowledge of SAP & CATIA Software

Required Qualifications

• BE/BTech/Diploma in Mechanical /Production minimum 10years of relevant experience – minimum 5yearcore experience of process/method of heavy machining and assembly.
