Job summary

JNK India Limited in Mumbai seeks a senior piping material engineer to lead material engineering activities for EPC projects, overseeing PMS, material selection, MTO/BOM, valve specifications and related vendor documents.

You will review P&IDs, line lists and 3D models, coordinate with process, design, procurement and site teams, ensure quality, cost and schedule targets, and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of piping material engineering experience.
• Knowledge of PMS, material selection, MTO/BOM and valves.
• Experience with EPC projects and interdisciplinary coordination.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

Lead piping material engineering activities for EPC projects, including preparation, review and control of Piping Material Specifications (PMS), material classes, material selection, valve specifications, branch tables, rating tables and corrosion allowances. Review P&IDs, line lists, equipment data, piping layouts and project specifications to establish appropriate materials and piping classes. Prepare and review MTOs/BOMs, MR, PR, TBE, PO, valve GADs and vendor documents. Review non-standard fittings, branch connections, reinforcement/pad thickness and special piping components. Ensure consistency between PMS, 3D model, isometrics, MTO and procurement documents. Coordinate with Process, Piping Design/Layout, Stress, Procurement, Mechanical, Project Management, Vendors and Site teams for technical clarifications, material approvals, fabrication and construction requirements. Lead material-related design reviews, resolve engineering/site queries and ensure deliverables meet project quality, cost and schedule requirements.

Preferred candidate profile

Strong knowledge of piping materials, PMS, material selection, piping classes, P&IDs, piping layouts, MTO/BOM, valves, fittings, flanges, branch connections and piping specifications. Experience in preparing/reviewing MR, PR, TBE, PO, valve GADs and vendor documents. Knowledge of non-standard fittings, pad/reinforcement requirements, corrosion allowance and applicable ASME/API/ASTM standards. Good understanding of EPC project execution and interdisciplinary coordination. Strong leadership, communication, analytical, problem-solving and team-management skills. Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, PDF tools and 3D model review is preferred.

Work Experience

10 to 15 years of relevant experience in piping material engineering, PMS, material selection, MTO, valve/fitting specifications and EPC project execution, preferably with experience in leading material engineering activities and coordinating with design, procurement, vendors and site teams.
