We seek an experienced and visionary Photography Lead to elevate our visual content to world-class standards. This role is crucial for defining our brand's visual identity, leading our in-house creative team, and driving customer engagement through compelling photography and videography. Our brand identity relies on high-quality, aspirational, and informative visual content that showcases the beauty and texture of our products (plants, seeds, tools) and inspires our community.

The Photography Lead will be accountable for the entire visual production pipeline and content quality.

Full Time | On-Site | Pune

High-Quality Visual Assets Production

• Direct and execute a continuous stream of stunning, on-brand photography and videography content.


• Special emphasis on Product Photography (studio and lifestyle shots for e-commerce and social media) to make plants, tools, and accessories look compelling and desirable.


• Develop Brand & Lifestyle Imagery that tells the Ugaoo brand story and fosters a strong connection with the target audience.


• Oversee the creation of Promotional Videos (short-form videos for social media, website banners, and advertising).

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, mentor, and manage the in-house team of photographers and videographers, providing clear direction, creative feedback, and professional development.


• Manage project scheduling, task assignment, and resource allocation to ensure all projects are completed to a high standard and on schedule.

Creative Vision & Strategy

• Translate marketing objectives and brand vision into compelling visual concepts and stories.


• Collaborate with marketing and design teams to experiment with new visual styles and techniques to keep content fresh, engaging, and aligned with industry trends.

Operational Excellence

• Maintain and organize a well-structured digital asset library, ensuring all files are correctly tagged, archived, and easily accessible.


• Oversee the departmental Budget & Equipment Management, recommending upgrades and new purchases to maintain peak production standards.

Required Experience & Background

Professional Experience

• 8-10 years of progressive experience in commercial photography and visual content creation.


• Preferred Sector Experience: Experience from E-commerce/Retail (heavy focus on product content), Advertising/Marketing Agencies (visual campaigns), or Fashion/Lifestyle brands (high-quality lookbooks/campaigns).


• Preferred Organizations: A background at established e-commerce brands known for a strong visual identity, reputable advertising agencies with award-winning visual campaigns, or high-end commercial photography studios.

Educational Background

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Photography, Fine Arts, Visual Communications, or a related field.


• Formal training or certifications from a recognized photography school or institute are a plus.


• A strong, professional portfolio demonstrating exceptional skill and experience is considered the most critical credential.

Technical Skills (Must-Have Mastery)

• Mastery of Photography & Videography Equipment: Proficient with professional-grade DSLR/mirrorless cameras, lenses, and advanced lighting systems (strobes, continuous lights, modifiers).


• Advanced Lighting Techniques: Exceptional knowledge of lighting principles and the ability to conceptualize and execute complex setups, especially for diverse product photography (reflective, textured, etc.) to highlight shape, texture, and appeal.


• Expert Post-Production: Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop (advanced retouching and compositing), Lightroom (color correction and management), and Premiere Pro/Final Cut Pro (video editing).


• Product Photography Expertise: Demonstrated ability to shoot a wide range of products and make them look compelling and highly desirable for e-commerce.


• Videography and Cinematography: Experience in shooting and directing short-form video content (product demos, promotional clips, social media assets).

Soft Skills (Leadership & Creative)

• Creative Vision & Conceptualization: The ability to translate abstract ideas and marketing goals into tangible, compelling visual content.


• Strong Communication & Collaboration: Excellent skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams (marketing, product, design) and clearly articulate creative ideas.


• Project Management: Skilled in planning, prioritizing, and managing multiple projects simultaneously, meeting critical deadlines, and managing resources efficiently.


• Attention to Detail & Problem-Solving: A meticulous eye for composition, light, and final image quality, coupled with resourcefulness to troubleshoot technical or creative issues quickly.
