Job summary

Ugaoo is seeking a sharp, data-driven Merchandiser to ensure the right products are in the right place at the right time across its growing Pune Mumbai network. You’ll translate consumer insights into planning strategies, maintain freshness, and maximize in-store relevance through thoughtful assortment and replenishment.

You will collaborate with operations, sourcing and store teams to secure availability, monitor performance, and optimize MOQs, lead times and promotions.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in retail merchandising.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret large data sets.
• Experience in inventory management and forecast planning.
• Collaborative mindset to work with operations, sourcing and stores.
• Able to balance data with customer intuition.

We’re looking for a sharp, data‑savvy and detail‑obsessed Merchandiser to help us ensure the right products are at the right place, at the right time. You’ll be responsible for translating consumer insights into product planning strategies, ensuring high availability without overstocking, and maximizing the freshness and relevance of our in‑store assortment.

Responsibilities:

Inventory & Assortment Planning

• Ensure optimal product availability across all stores, minimizing stockouts and excess inventory
• Monitor sales velocity and product performance to refine replenishment cycles
• Build and execute product lifecycle plans to maintain a balance between newness and bestsellers

Demand Forecasting & Order Management

• Plan monthly/fortnightly ordering cycles based on sales trends, store performance, and seasonality
• Forecast demand for own‑branded products and align with production and supply chain teams

Cross‑functional Collaboration

• Raise timely and accurate POs; track delivery adherence with store & warehouse team
• Partner with store operations to troubleshoot product availability, stock discrepancies, and customer requirements
• Coordinate with the supply chain team to manage MOQs, lead times, and fill rates efficiently
• Ensure margin targets are met by aligning procurement with pricing and promotions strategy

Product Freshness & Visual Appeal

• Ensure freshness targets are met with regular SKU rotations and fast replenishments

What Success Looks Like

• Delivering Budgeted NSV & GM%
• Inventory cover maintained in advance and as per plan
• Strong fill rates and order fulfilment metrics
• Category-wise assortment availability and freshness index
• Seamless vendor and stakeholder coordination

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience in retail merchandising, preferably in consumer or lifestyle categories
• Strong analytical skills—comfortable interpreting large data sets to drive decisions
• Experience in inventory management, demand forecasting, and assortment planning
• Collaborative and proactive mindset to work with operations, sourcing, and store teams
• A knack for balancing data with intuition—understanding what customers want before they do
