Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end India payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate payroll closure.
  • Validate payroll inputs including new joiners, exits, salary changes, incentives, deductions, leave and attendance.
  • Ensure correct tax calculation, TDS, investment declarations/proofs and Form 16 processing.
  • Ensure compliance with PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, LWF, NAPS, minimum wages and applicable labour laws.
  • Ensure timely PF/ESIC remittances and support statutory/labour return filings.
  • Validate weekly/monthly payout files and ensure there are no errors or duplicate payments.
  • Establish and maintain effective payroll controls, reconciliations and audit processes.
  • Prepare payroll journals, provisions and cost reports for Finance.
  • Support internal, statutory and payroll audits and ensure timely closure of observations.
  • Monitor changes in payroll legislation and implement required changes.
  • Manage payroll-related employee queries and resolve discrepancies within SLA.
  • Lead, guide and monitor the payroll team and ensure productivity and quality.
  • Coordinate with HR, Finance, Tax, HRIS/IT and payroll vendors.
  • Drive payroll process improvements, automation and standardization.

Education: Graduate/Postgraduate in HR, Finance, Commerce or related field

Role Summary

We are looking for a Team Lead - India Payroll to manage end-to-end payroll operations, statutory compliance, taxation, payroll controls, audits and team management.   • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, including formulas, Pivot Tables, lookups and payroll analysis.
  • Good PowerPoint and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage payroll deadlines.
