Job summary

Hindalco Industries in Dahej (Gujarat) is seeking an Industrial Engineer to plan and optimize departments, implement SOPs, and improve manhours, cost, and asset care. You will contribute to lean initiatives, DMAIC projects, and procurement alignment during maintenance shutdowns.

The role requires hands-on experience in a large integrated unit, exposure to cost estimation, and familiarity with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing practices to drive efficiency and productivity.

Qualifications

• Experience as Industrial Engineer in a large integrated chemical/metallurgical unit.
• Exposure to P&B preparation.
• Exposure to Zero Based Cost estimation and procurement management.
• Exposure to O&M.
• Experience in procurement at any career stage.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate individual departments to develop management systems.
• Optimize complex management processes and service costs.
• Simplify systems and implement SOPs to improve manpower deployment.
• Apply DMAIC/Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control during large shutdowns to optimize labor, materials and machines.
• Define and measure procurement and deployment planning for major maintenance.

1. To plan and facilitate individual departments -
   
   
   
   • a) In developing management systems
   
   
   • b) Optimization of complex management processes and cost of services
   
   
   • c) Simplification of systems
   
   
   • d) Method and SOP implementation for improvement in manpower, skill and knowledge deployment through various integrated measures & techniques for saving manhours, manpowers, cost, possible loss of knowledge/information/ asset care.
   
   
   • e) Optimal utlization of manpowers
   
   
   • f) Prevention of leakages/idleness in various resources
   
   
   
   



2. Implementing policies and measures in the unit to achieve-

   • d)Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control - Optimizing labor, materials and machines, especially for large shutdowns and related jobs
