Job summary

JSW Steel in Goa invites an experienced HR & Industrial Relations professional to lead HR initiatives for the Mining Unit. The role focuses on aligning HR programs with business goals, managing contract labour, and ensuring regulatory compliance in mining operations.

You will drive employee relations, implement development programs, oversee welfare and disciplinary actions, and ensure statutory compliance while fostering a safe, productive workplace and leveraging Konkani language familiarity as

Qualifications

• 10–20 years of experience in HR & IR roles, preferably in mining.
• MBA/PGDM in HR/IR or related field preferred.
• Expertise in contract labour management, disciplinary action, grievances, labour laws, welfare and statutory compliance for mining companies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the mining unit's business goals.
• Manage contract labour and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Create L&D programs to develop internal talent.
• Bridge management and employee relations, addressing grievances and issues.
• Handle disciplinary actions and employee welfare initiatives.
• Develop HR policies, budgets and strategies to drive growth.
• Oversee labour relations, union negotiations, and statutory compliance.
• Ensure timely HRIS implementation for data management.
• Improve working conditions for employees at mines.
• Promote workplace morale and a cordial, professional atmosphere.
• Foster staff confidence and promote internal/external goodwill.
• Support work-life balance, health, fitness, and liaison/hospitality in operations.
• Ensure compliance with statutory provisions and educate stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy for the Mining Unit at Goa.
• Manage contract labour management, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
• Bridging management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
• Handle disciplinary actions, grievances, and employee welfare initiatives to maintain a positive work environment.
• Develop and implement effective HR policies, strategies, and budgets to drive business growth.
• Oversee union negotiations, labour relations, and statutory compliance to minimize industrial disputes.
• Ensure timely implementation of HRIS systems for efficient data management.
• Improve the working conditions of Employees at Mines.
• Increase the overall working efficiency by providing conducive environment to the Employees, boosting morale and bring in professional cordial atmosphere.
• Establish a feeling of confidence amongst staff and invests to promote internal and external goodwill.
• Increasing work-life balance, good health, and fitness, liaising, hospitality, and social harmony.
• Maintaining different statutory provisions and educating respective stake holders.

Desired Profile :

• 10-20 years of experience in Human Resources & Industrial Relations (HR&IR) role.
• MBA/PGDM degree in HR/Industrial Relations or related field preferred.
• Proven expertise in areas such as Contract Labour Management, Disciplinary Action, Grievance Handling, Labour Laws, Labour Welfare, Statutory Compliances for Mining Companies .
• Place of Posting will be in Goa for Mining Division & having knowledge of Konkani Language will be an advantage.
