Job summary

Tata AutoComp Systems Limited in India is seeking an experienced Senior Hardware Design Engineer to lead the development of BMS hardware for 48V, HV and BESS applications, spanning schematics, PCB designs and power electronics circuits.

You will ensure compliance with safety standards like ISO 26262, AIS-038/156, perform DFMEA/DFT, mentor junior engineers and collaborate across System, Software, Testing and Manufacturing teams to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Electrical/Electronics/ETC.
• 7-12 years in Automotive/EV Hardware Design.
• Mandatory experience in BMS product development.
• Strong knowledge of Power Electronics, PCB Design, and HV hardware.
• Experience with ISO 26262, AIS-038/156, DFMEA, DFM, and DFT.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware design and development for BMS applications.
• Develop schematics, PCB designs, and power circuits.
• Design and validate MOSFET, Contactor, Gate Driver, and protection circuits.
• Perform hardware validation, debugging, and root cause analysis.
• Ensure ISO 26262 and related safety standards compliance.
• Conduct DFMEA, design reviews, and DFM/DFT activities.
• Collaborate with System, Software, Testing, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and support customer/supplier discussions.

Role & responsibilities :-

• Lead hardware design & development for BMS (48V, HV & BESS applications).

• Ensure compliance with ISO 26262, AIS-038/156, and HV/LV safety standards.
• Conduct DFMEA, design reviews, and DFM/DFT activities.
• Collaborate with System, Software, Testing, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and support technical discussions with customers and suppliers.

Preferred candidate profile :-

• B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, E&TC, or related field.
• 7-12 years of experience in Automotive/EV Hardware Design.
• Mandatory experience in BMS product development.
• Strong expertise in Power Electronics, Analog & Digital Circuit Design, and PCB Design.
• Hands-on experience with High Voltage hardware, EMI/EMC, thermal design, and hardware validation.
• Knowledge of ISO 26262, AIS-038/156, DFMEA, DFM, and DFT.
• Experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debugging tools.
• Exposure to EV, Battery Packs, BESS, or Automotive Electronics preferred.
